Her disappearance from screens followed the BBC’s news channels merging in a cost-cutting measure.

Viewers were left devastated when Martine, at the time, revealed she had hosted her final show.

After previously teasing an imminent return to the screens, Martine shared a snap of herself back in the BBC News studio.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Martine wrote to her followers: “Piloting in my happy place, Studio E.”

Martine’s delighted fans were also quick to share their reactions to her good news.

One wrote: “Best wishes with this and all ahead.”

Another penned: “Fantastic to see you back there.”

A third fan shared: “Great to see you there, Martine!”

Earlier this month Martine launched legal action against the BBC.

US outlet Deadline reported she was taking the BBC to a two-day employment tribunal next month, citing age and gender discrimination.

The BBC had declined to comment when contacted by The Sun.

Meanwhile, The Sun revealed earlier this month how Martine had returned to Broadcasting House in preparation for her return to screens, which will take place later next month.
