Cristiano Ronaldo's Number One Choice For Manchester United Job Isn't One Of The Bookies Favourites

After suffering seven defeats in their last 13 games, it was announced on Sunday morning that United had parted ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the club's humiliating 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road.
In a statement on the club's official website, United confirmed that first-team coach Michael Carrick will take charge of the team for forthcoming games as the club looks to appoint an interim to the end of the season.

Carrick, who remained at the club as first-team coach under Solskjaer following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, is another favourite alongside Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers and highly-rated Ajax boss Erik ten Hag.
Ralf Rangnick, Laurent Blanc and Mauricio Pochettino are also being linked, not to mention former United midfielder Darren Fletcher, who is the technical director at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, wants former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique to become the new manager at Old Trafford, according to Sky Sports, who report United are expected to consider him as a possible replacement.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner believes Enrique, who is currently in charge of the Spanish national team, is the right calibre of coach to help United compete against the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.
The report goes on to state that Enrique would be interested in talking to officials about the vacancy.
