Masked Singer's Poodle accused of conning panel with 'obvious' clues as Jonathan Ross guesses Mika

The Masked Singer's Poodle have been accused of trying to throw the panel and con them with 'too obvious' red herrings as Jonathan Ross became convinced it was Mika behind the mask.

As the crazy ITV show continued with a Love special on Saturday night, Poodle was first on stage to perform Tom Jones classic What's New Pussycat.

When Poodle first performed two weeks ago the name that was mentioned by many viewers was James Blunt after clues which could have been a nod to his military career.

However, after Poodle's latest star turn, a clue from the 'two lies and a truth' section which followed the performance, sent Mika shaped alarm bells ringing for Jonathan.

One of the clues was that Poodle was known for being 'Hazel, cerulean and ultra lilac,' which Jonathan cleverly took to be a thinly veiled hint at the famous 'I can be brown, I can be blue, I can be violet sky' from Mika's number 1 Grace Kelly.

And then as Poodle left the stage, he mentioned 'Mika-ig' things too easy for the panel in a backstage interview.

While the line about the colours and 'Mika-ing' certainly point in the direction of Mika, many Masked Singer fans thought both clues were far too obvious and were a deliberate ploy to send the panel down the wrong path.

One viewer tweeted: "Loving how @wossy has guessed Poodle as #MIKA@mikasounds but I think the scent has thrown him off in the wrong direction because this is more difficult than you realise."

A second commented: "Can’t be Mika- some pretty obvious clues if it is and we know they don’t do obvious clues on this show."

Others went along with Jonathan and declared Poodle was "definitely Mika," while other names guessed included Keane frontman Tom Chaplin and James Blunt again.
