We’ve got bad news for Ashleys and Amandas.

The once-popular baby monikers of the ’90s and early aughts are now considered “old people names.”

TikToker Amber Cimiotti caused shock when she recently revealed that her young daughter believes millennial-era names like Ashley, Amber and Amanda are “basically the new Margaret or Barbara.”

Cimiotti said her daughter Scarlett’s teachers are named “Miss Erica,” and”Miss Samantha, so the youngster associates such monikers with more mature women.

In a video with 3.5 million views, the mom began rattling off the common names for young kids nowadays, saying: “There’s Charlottes, there’s Olivias, there’s Penelopes, there’s Isabellas, there’s Bellas, there’s Ellas.”

“For me, Ashely is always going to be my friend from elementary, so it just seems like a kid name to me, but it’s not.”

The news flabbergasted viewers who quipped that it’s actually Gen Alpha kids who have “old people names.”

“Who’s going to tell them Charlotte and Penelope are old people names?” one person humorously asked.

“Little do they know that the ‘new names’ are actually grandma names to us,” a second remarked.

“Charlotte, Olive, Eleanor, are Granny names for us so it all comes full circle,” agreed another user.

Almost as if to prove their point, “classic” names like Annie, Cecelia and Margaret are slated to be popular in 2024, according to one baby name expert.

Meanwhile, several scorned Millennials accused of having “old people” names also chimed in.

“What a way to find out that I’m basically Gertrude to this new generation,” a woman named Amanda stated.

“To me, Ashley is eternally a 17-year-old girl wearing two tank tops and dreaming of the day she can finally get that belly button piercing,” joked someone else.

“Um ow. First skinny jeans, then the side part and now my NAME?!” another lamented.
