Naga Munchetty issues apology during mortifying BBC Breakfast interview

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty was left red-faced during Friday's edition of the show.

The programme from 6am on BBC One on Friday 3 December left Naga a little embarrassed.

Naga was mortified after being corrected on-air during a chat fans have called "cringe".

Naga was left hiding her face during an interview about Christmas songs with Shakin' Stevens, as he corrected her following a massive blunder.

Naga kicked off the interview by saying: "Let's talk to someone who knows a thing or two about Christmas at Number 1 - Shakin' Stevens joins us - good morning to you!"

"As we saw there, you're throwing your hat into the ring. How did that come about?" she asked.

"Well, it's been like this every year. Are we talking about Merry Christmas Everyone?" Shakin' asked.

Naga explained: "No, we weren't yet, Shakin', we were just gonna figure that out!"

She added: "Can I just ask you something? It feels really odd to call you Shakin', is that how I'm supposed to refer to you?"

He told her: "No, it's not. In conversation it's Shaky."

"Oh, sorry. I apologise," Naga said.
