On the eve of the 30th anniversary of Ayrton Senna's untimely death, Netflix has revved up excitement with the release of the first trailer for its highly anticipated miniseries chronicling the life and career of the legendary Formula 1 driver.

"Senna" will be a six-episode series

Premiering later this year, the series, titled "Senna," promises an intimate portrayal of the iconic racer, from his humble beginnings in Brazil to his meteoric rise to becoming a three-time world champion.

Starring Gabriel Leone in the main role, the trailer offers a glimpse into Senna's journey, from his historic victory at the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix to his tragic end at Imola in 1994.

The two-minute teaser opens with Leone as Senna preparing for the Brazilian Grand Prix, capturing the intensity and passion that defined the racer's career.

As Senna navigates the twists and turns of the Interlagos circuit, viewers are transported through flashbacks of his childhood dreams and aspirations, culminating in his triumphant win on home soil.

No official release date yet for "Senna"

According to Netflix, the series will delve into Senna's complex relationships, including his rivalry with fellow driver Alain Prost, portrayed by Matt Mella.

Joining Leone and Mella are a stellar cast of Brazilian and international talent, including Kaya Scodelario, Alice Wegmann, and Hugo Bonemer, who bring to life the pivotal figures in Senna's life.

With Vicente Amorim and Julia Rezende at the helm as showrunner and co-director, alongside a team of talented writers led by head scriptwriter Gustavo Bragança, "Senna" promises to be a gripping and authentic portrayal of one of motorsport's greatest icons.

While Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for the series, anticipation is already running high among fans eager to relive the exhilarating highs and heartbreaking lows of Senna's extraordinary career.
