The event, happening tonight (Friday, February 2) and tomorrow evening (Saturday, February 3), is set to include 30 interactive light-based installations across the city.

Returning for its 16th year, Light Night is expected to attract around 80,000 people to the city centre.

The event’s organiser, It’s in Nottingham, has this afternoon confirmed two changes to the programme, including to one of the main attractions.

Exhibit three, named The World Has Gone Pear Shaped, was set to be located on Sussex Street between 5pm and 10pm on both evenings.

However, the installation will now be located on Colin Street, outside the library.

The World Has Gone Pear Shaped is a six-metre-high pear illuminated by 3D NASA technology.

The second change involves the Lightsaber Duel, which was due to take place tonight at the Castle Gatehouse.

The performance will now take place between 7pm and 9pm on Saturday evening “due to unforeseen circumstances”.

All other installations are unaffected by these changes to the programme.

The event is free to attend and the full schedule can be found here.
