Palworld hits early access soon and many PC players are wondering, does Palworld have mod support?

Palworld is an interesting-looking game that’s been floating around in the periphery of the internet since a viral trailer had viewers declare the game ‘Pokemon with guns’.

Of course, the game is a little more than that. Palworld is an intriguing blend of the building and survival mechanics of the Ark franchise, the varied creature collection of Pokemon, and the open-world traversal of more recent Zelda titles.

All of which sound like a modder’s paradise. So, does the PC version of Palworld have mod support?

Will Palworld have mod support at launch?

When Palworld enters early access on January 19, 2024, it will not have mod support. It’s a bit of a letdown because the prerelease footage of the game is enough to get the cogs in our brains turning with some awesome ideas. 

Don’t let that discourage you though. There have been some developments that will be music to the ears of anyone hoping to create or use mods in Palworld.

Is mod support coming to Palworld?

Developer Pocketpair has confirmed that Palworld will receive mod support at some point in the future. They made the announcement on the game’s Steam page but when this will happen has not yet been revealed, so it could be a while off.

The developers have not confirmed whether mod support will be available during Palworld’s early access period or if it will come following the full launch of the game. The release date for the complete version of Palworld is currently unannounced so don’t hold your breath.

Now for the real question. Which one do we turn into Thomas the Tank Engine?

For now, this is all we know about mod support for Palworld. There’s at least a glimmer of hope now that we know that it’s definitely coming, and we can’t wait to see the possibilities.
