Mauricio Pochettino's quartet of long-time assistants have departed Chelsea along with the Argentine Head Coach.

Last night (May 21st), Chelsea announced that Pochettino was leaving by mutual consent after just one season. Sporting Directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: "On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we would like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season. He will be welcome back to Stamford Bridge any time and we wish him all the very best in his future coaching career."

Pochettino added: "Thank you to the Chelsea ownership group and Sporting Directors for the opportunity to be part of this football club's history. The club is now well positioned to keep moving forward in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come."

The four assistants to go along with him are:

  • Jesus Perez (Assistant/ Fitness Coach): Has been with Pochettino throughout his managerial career. The Spaniard was already an analyst at Espanyol when Pochettino arrived and soon gained his trust, remaining with him as he moved to clubs in England (Southampton and Tottenham) and France (PSG).
  • Miguel d’Agostino (Assistant): Argentine played alongside Pochettino for Newell's Old Boys and was his assistant at Espanyol, Southampton, Spurs, PSG and Chelsea.
  • Toni Jimenez (Goalkeeper Coach): The former keeper also worked with Pochettino since the start of his managerial career in 2009.
  • Sebastiano Pochettino (Assistant/ Sport Scientist): Was born in Espanyol when his father was playing for the club. Went on to gain a first class degree in sports and exercise at Southampton Solent University. Became the youngest sport scientist in the Premier League at Tottenham, at 22, and has remained part of inner circle of staff ever since.
