Dancing On Ice's Jayne Torvill was reduced to tears live on air Sunday night, before being comforted by fellow skater Christopher Dean.

The Olympic Legend admitted 'I'm getting emotional now' following Regan Gascoigne's performance which was inspired by Torvill and Dean's 'Barnum' routine from the World Championships in 1983.

'I mean we know that technically your skating has always been good' Torvill said. 'But tonight everything came together'.

Bursting into tears she said: 'The performance, erm, I'm getting emotional now.' As Dean leaned over and touched her arm.

The couples were tasked with recreating some of Torvill and Dean's most iconic performances, before next week's semi finals.

The son of English football legend Paul Gascoigne, who scored a perfect 40 for the routine, was equally emotional adding: 'It was such an honour to get to recreate part of your life.'

Fellow Judge Oti Mabuse, had to take over from Jayne to give the couple her feedback.

'Oh I love to see that. Regan for a couple of weeks I thought you were on the same level but tonight, you were so technically good.'

Regan was also in tears, and said 'This is insane. It's not just a skate, it's your life. It's amazing getting to recreate that.

Steph Reid became the seventh celebrity eliminated from Dancing On Ice on Sunday.

The Paralympic athlete, 37 and her skating partner Andy Buchanan were sent home after they landed in the skate off opposite Kye Whyte and Tippy Packard.

The couple were praised by all the judges, with Jayne noting that they probably would have made it to the final of other series.

Following her elimination, Steph said: 'I've loved every moment. It's not something that I ever thought I'd be able to do.'

Giving Andy a hug, she added: 'I can't thank you enough.'

Three celebrity couples received top marks in Sunday's episode with co-host Phillip Schofield hailing it as one of the best shows in the programme's history.
