Torvill and Dean warn Regan Gascoigne to keep a poker face for Dancing on Ice semifinal
Holly Willoughby has been forced to pull out of tonight's show after testing positive or Covid

Regan Gascoigne is about to start his bid to get into the final of Dancing on Ice 2022.

The son of Poole resident, former footballer Paul Gascoigne, has been a firm fan favourite along the series, and although he is currently ranked behind Brendan Cole and Kimberly Wyatt in the competition, he holds a strong chance of getting into next Sunday's show.

Holly Willoughby has had to pull out of tonight's show after testing positive for Covid, however judges Torvill and Dean have been sharing their tips for the semi-finalists with The Sun newspaper. Referring to Regan's chances to get to the final they commented: "‘Lizard dance was great. Must learn not to show on his face if he makes error.'"

In preparation for tonight's semi-final, Regan has been sharing updates from his warm-up routines, including one clip where he whizzes around the rink in front of favourite Brendan.

Co-host Holly Willoughby will not be on the show tonight after testing positive for Covid-19, ITV has announced.

In a statement, a spokesman for ITV said that the semi-final will be hosted by Willoughby’s co-host Phillip Schofield alone.

“Unfortunately Holly Willoughby is unable to host tonight’s show after testing positive for Covid-19,” the spokesperson said.

“We look forward to Holly returning for the Dancing on Ice live final.”

Last month, Stephen Mulhern replaced Phillip Schofield on the show when the This Morning presenter tested positive for coronvirus.

Sunday’s semi-finals will see the celebrity contestants skate twice and also include a double elimination.

Last weekend Paralympian Stef Reid became the seventh celebrity to be voted off, meaning five celebrities remain - Kimberly Wyatt, Connor Ball, Regan Gascoigne, Brendan Cole and Kye Whyte all remain.
