The process of moving house is said to be one of the most stressful milestones someone can experience in their life.

And it turns out that even if you're an eighteen-time Brit winner, the process is not any easier.

Robbie Williams put his seven bedroom Wiltshire mansion on the market back in September but, despite the sprawling home being one of the most viewed properties in the area, the singer is yet to shift it, The Daily Star reports.

The Take That star is being encouraged to lower his asking price of £6.75m, but refuses to do so, according to insiders.

A source said: "It really is stunning, but it is just not being offered on. The price may be too high for the current climate of buyers, but it doesn’t seem like he wants to come down from what it has been valued at.

“It is causing all sorts of headaches.”

Compton Bassett House has been listed with Knight Frank by Robbie and his wife Ayda, who have lived at the property since 2009.

The breathtaking 71-acre country estate boasts seven bedrooms, two staff rooms, and an additional cottage.

When it comes to outdoor pursuits and leisure time, Robbie and his family have had the pleasure of enjoying the property's gorgeous gardens (including one of the walled variety), football pitch, tennis courts and even a helicopter hangar.

The insider said: “Online, the house is doing so well, everyone is clicking on it and wants to take a look around, but the reality is,it has been sat there six months now and it needs looking at, because it’s not moving.”

In a bid to get the house passed into different hands, Robbie has added a personal touch by sharing the memories he and his family have made in their mansion.

The 'Candy' singer said: "Compton Bassett House has been the perfect escape for our family. It is where Ayda and I truly fell in love, set roots as a couple, and dreamed of our future family.

"“Since then, we have welcomed four beautiful children into the gracious rooms at Compton Bassett House, where we have shared much laughter and joy. The gardens and trees have enchanted us with their magic, and on rainy days (of which there are many in England), we have played and splashed around the indoor pool, much to our delight.

“Compton Bassett House is most definitely a family-friendly house that deserves to have much more laughter and joy within its beautiful walls. We hope the incoming purchaser will enjoy just as much as we have.”
