Fan confronts stewards armed with CORNER FLAG as Sheffield ...
A MORON brandishing a corner flag confronted stewards after Sheffield Wednesday’s win over West Brom at Hillsborough.
A handful of fans raced onto the pitch in celebration after the Owls all-but guaranteed they would stay up with their 3-0 win.
But the atmosphere soured when the fan, who had ripped out the flag as he ran on, threatened security staff with it.
After an initial stand-off just outside the penalty area at the Kop end of the ground, he was shepherded towards the goalmouth and stewards were able to apprehend him.
Chants of "w***er, w***er" rang around the stadium as he was led away.
Wednesday were fined £50,000 by the FA after last season’s League One play-off semi final against Peterborough following a full-scale pitch invasion.
