The company announced its new series for Chinese market.

TCL, one of the leading TV makers with MiniLED LCD technology, has recently announced plans for its next-generation flagship TV series with impressive specifications. The X11H, currently under development and launching first in China, boasts a 14,112 dimming zones and a peak brightness of up to 6500 nits, making it the most advanced model in the company’s portfolio.

The X11H is claimed to offer 40% more energy-efficient backlight compared to conventional Mini-LED designs. Despite improved backlight tech, the TV is still very thin, not much thicker than a tablet (without the base). In terms of features, the X11H is based on a 4K VA LCD panel with a high refresh rate of 144Hz. This model will be available in 98 inch and 85 inch sizes.

TCL also announced its ‘top end’ TV for China. The model called X11H Max is a 163-inch size panel (that’s 200 cm diagonal). This is a luxury giant TV with XDR brightness of 10,000 nits. It supports 22-bit color gamut and supports HDR format up to 12 bits.

  • (Max) 163-inch: 799,999 RMB
  • 98-inch: retail price 49,999 RMB, pre-sale price 44,999 RMB
  • 85-inch: retail price 29,999 RMB, pre-sale price 27,999 RMB

The X11H Max has a built-in 6.2.2 channel system, which can be expanded into a 7.1.4 channel solution for those who really want to turn their living room into a cinema. The only problem except for its size is the price of 799,999 RMB ($110K), certainly only for the wealthiest clientele.

The X11H models are probably set to replace the current flagship TV called QM851G model in the US (X955 in Europe), but one should not one expect the series to reach global market anytime soon. As noted by the reports, TCL typically announced their monitors around CES (January) or IFA (September).
