Tesco Clubcard vouchers: Where to spend as £17million worth about to expire
The cost of living crisis is hitting UK homes hard, but as part of a campaign to help tackle this, Tesco has revealed that its customers have a total of £17 million worth of unclaimed Clubcard vouchers due to expire by May 31st.
Now the supermarket giant is urging customers to use the vouchers before it's too late.
Alessandra Bellini, chief customer officer at Tesco, said: "We know it’s tough right now, so we want to show our customers how we can help them spend less and keep more in their pockets – whether to manage the rising cost of living or do something good for themselves and loved ones.”
With Clubcard holders earning a point for every pound spent in-store it's easy to rack up vouchers, here’s how you can spend them.
Where can you spend Tesco Clubcard vouchers?Tesco's Clubcard scheme has recently been criticised by shoppers, but with 20 million Clubcard holders, Tesco’s rewards scheme is incredibly popular and according to Money Saving Expert it's “one of the most generous loyalty schemes around”.
Clubcard vouchers can be spent in-store at Tesco, with each point being worth 1p. This means that if you rack up 500 points, you’ll be able to get £5 worth in vouchers.
But Clubcard vouchers can also be tripled in worth if you choose to exchange them for a Rewards Partner voucher. So a £5 voucher can become a £15 voucher to spend with a Reward Partner.
Rewards Partner vouchers can be spent on a wide array of things including eating out, travel, entertainment, days out and more.
Just a few of the Rewards Partners that you can spend your vouchers with include:
-
Pizza Express
-
Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
-
ASK Italian
-
Disney +
-
Zizzi
-
Butlins
-
Alton Towers
-
Legoland
-
Eden Project
-
SpaSeekers

Tesco Clubcard vouchers are usually valid for up to two years, but Money Saving Expert has revealed a clever hack that you can use to extend them for another two years.
The trick is simple, all you need to do is make a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard site, you should note that it must be on the Clubcard site, not in-store or on other Tesco websites.
After your purchase, the remaining balance will be credited back to your Clubcard account in points.
The points you’ve had credited back to your account will then be reissued as new vouchers that will be valid for another two years.
You should aim to spend as little as possible so that you can get a higher value voucher that lasts longer. For example, if you spend 50p from a £10 voucher you’ll get back £9.50 in new vouchers.
How to check if you have unclaimed Clubcard vouchersTesco has said that they will contact Clubcard holders via email to let them know if they have any unspent vouchers that are due to expire.
If you don’t have Clubcard vouchers that are due to expire, you could still have unclaimed vouchers.
To check whether you have any unclaimed vouchers you can simply log in to your Tesco Clubcard account online and click “My Clubcard Account” and click “Vouchers” on the left-hand side.
You should then be able to see whether you have any unspent vouchers as well as any vouchers to claim.
