Christmas Eve supermarket opening times: Aldi, Asda, M&S, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Lidl

It's Christmas Eve, Santa will soon be on his way and shops including supermarkets will be closing early tonight to get ready for the festivities.

You've only got a few hours left to buy whatever it is you still need for Christmas Day and beyond, until you can brave the shops again.

Several stores and supermarkets are closing this year on Boxing Day to give staff that extra time off. With Christmas falling on a weekend this year, it means Monday and Tuesday next week are bank holidays in England, so there will be reduced opening times on those days too.

Below you will find the Christmas Eve opening times for supermarkets across Merseyside. We've taken a look at the larger superstores, but some of the smaller convenience stores may have different hours, which you can check on the store locators provided.

Christmas Eve supermarket opening times:

Aldi

Aldi stores across England will all operate the same opening and closing times over the Christmas period. These are:

Christmas Eve: 7am to 6pm

Asda

Asda superstores have slightly different opening times. These are the times for some of the larger stores on Merseyside and you can check your nearest using the Asda store locator.

Christmas Eve: Breck Road, Birkenhead, Liscard, Stoneycroft, Bootle, Penny Lane and Bootle Orrell Lane 6am to 7pm. Smithdown Road and Walton 12am to 7pm.

M&S

Christmas opening times vary across Marks and Spencer stores, with some opening until midnight next week. These are the opening times for some of the local stores and you can check others using the M&S store finder here.

Christmas Eve: Church Street, 7am to 7pm. Aintree, Speke, Edge Lane and Queens Drive 6am to 7pm.

Tesco

Tesco Superstores have slightly different hours, we’ve detailed some of the large Merseyside stores below. For other stores, including Express and Metro stores, check opening times on the Tesco website here.

Christmas Eve: Liverpool ONE, 7am to 6pm. Allerton Road, midnight to 7pm. Woolton, West Derby, 8am to 7pm. Old Swan and Heswall, 7am to 7pm. Formby 6am to 7am. Litherland 12am to 7pm, Heswall 24h

Sainsbury’s

Christmas Eve: 6am to 7pm

Morrisons

Lidl
