May bank holiday supermarket opening times at Tesco, M&S, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Aldi, Asda, Lidl

The May bank holiday is here and that means a change to supermarket opening and closing times.

There will be a little less time than usual to do your shopping today, as retailers give staff extra time to enjoy the bank holiday. So if you're looking to stock up on extra food and drink, or need some other household essentials, be sure to check the opening times before your head out.

We've rounded up the opening and closing times for many of the large supermarkets below. Some smaller stores and convenience shops will remain open later as usual. We've included store locators for each of the shops, so you can check your nearest branch.

Tesco

Tesco Superstores have slightly different hours for May bank holiday. We’ve detailed some of the large Merseyside stores below. For other stores, including Express and Metro stores, check opening times on the Tesco website here.

Opening times:

Liverpool ONE, 8am to 6pm; Allerton Road, 8am to 6pm; Woolton, 8am to 6pm; Old Swan, 8am to 6pm; West Derby, 8am to 6pm; Formby 8am to 6pm, Litherland 8am to 6pm; Heswall, 8am to 6pm

M&S

Opening times vary across Marks and Spencer stores today. These are the opening times for the Merseyside stores and you can check others using the M&S store finder here.

Church Street 9am to 8pm; Edge Lane 8am to 8pm; Queen’s Drive (West Derby) 8am to 8pm; Aintree 8am to 9pm; Bromborough 9am to 6pm; New Mersey Shopping Park (Speke) 8am to 8pm

Morrisons

Sainsbury’s
