Like many other supermarkets, Tesco will be operating at different opening times over the Christmas period.

What time does Tesco open and close on Boxing Day?

Some Tesco shops will be open on Boxing Day, but as the holiday falls on a Sunday those that are will be operating at reduced hours.

Tesco has confirmed that Extra stores and Superstores across England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be trading normal Sunday hours on Boxing Day, however, not all of them are open.

When we checked the store locator we found that some larger branches in Wales are actually closed on December 26.

Those that are operating seem to be open between 10am and 4pm or 11am and 5pm.

As opening hours vary so much from store to store, Tesco is advising customers to visit the Tesco Store locator to check their local store's opening times and avoid disappointment. You can find it here.

Meanwhile, Tesco has said the majority of Express stores are open 9am to 7pm today, while petrol stations are open 8am to 7pm, although again this may vary depending on the area
