The Sims 4 is free on PC right now
The Sims 4 has been quietly toiling away since the release of Get Famous and Strangerville, adding free content packs that include new career options and terrain tools. While the expansions are still locked behind a paywall, fans can claim the base game of The Sims 4from Electronic Arts, via Origin, through May 28.
In order to claim The Sims 4, fans can head to the Origin client or their online storefront. The Sims 4 can be downloaded for Mac or Windows PC; there’s also the option to purchase the Digital Deluxe edition for $49.99, and a reminder that the content is part of EA’s Origin Access subscription program.
The Sims 4 has one of the best character creators around, and the ability to build and create environments is worth the download alone — especially since the new terrain tools allow for more customization of lots than ever.
The download will allow players to keep their copy of The Sims 4; it’s not a trial, and the game will remain part of players’ libraries after promotion ends on May 28.
