Planned Easter weekend travel disruptions in Harrow with strikes and tube closures

Transport for London (TfL) has issued a notice regarding planned closures and strikes affecting travel over the Easter weekend, some of which will impact Harrow residents.

Here’s what you need to know to plan your journeys accordingly.

Tube Strikes and Service Disruptions:

ASLEF union members have planned strikes on the London Underground for Monday, April 8th, and Saturday, May 4th. This is anticipated to cause severe disruption across the network, with limited to no service on certain lines.

On Tuesday, April 9th, and Sunday, May 5th, London Underground services may commence later than usual, with a full service expected by mid-morning.

Alternative routes, including walking and cycling, are advised, with customers urged to check before they travel and allocate extra time for their journeys. More information is available on the TfL website.

National Rail Strikes:

ASLEF union strikes are also expected to impact national rail services from Thursday, April 4th, to Tuesday, April 9th. The level of disruption will vary each day, with some areas experiencing no services.

London Underground Closures in Harrow:

From Tuesday, April 2nd, to Thursday, April 11th, there will be no service on the Northern line between Golders Green and Edgware. Rail replacement buses will operate between Canons Park and Golders Green, with alternative transportation options advised for Brent Cross station.

Elizabeth Line Service Alterations:

On Thursday, March 28th, there will be a reduced service between Paddington and Heathrow/Maidenhead after 21:30, with certain stations not being served after 22:10.

On Saturday, March 30th, the last train from Heathrow Terminal 5 to Paddington will terminate at Ealing Broadway.

On Sunday, March 31st, there will be no service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 07:45, with alternative travel routes suggested for customers.
