Customers 'disgusted' at new food and drinks policy changes on TUI flights from Yorkshire airports

Customers disgusted at new food and drinks policy changes on TUI flights from Yorkshire airports
One passenger queued for 2.5 hours through security, didn't have time to eat in the lounge and couldn't get anything other than a pot-noodle on board

Airline customers have been left 'disgusted' after TUI issues warning to it's passengers of new food and drinks policy onboard.

The airline has issued a warning to its passengers of a change to the food and drinks services affecting some Yorkshire flights. The airline announced on its website this week the airline will no longer serve hot and cold meals or sandwiches for the time being.

On top of the change, the snacks and drinks served on TUI flights will be "limited" on its short and mid-haul flights. The operator said in a statement on May 5 the issue was due to "staff shortages" and would take place over the coming days.

Leeds Bradford Airport and Doncaster Sheffield are amongst 15 other airports which have flights affected by the changes.

Some passengers weren't happy with the new changes, dubbing it 'disgusting' and a health concern.

Michelle Williams said: "We flew from Leeds to Cyprus with Jet2 last Friday, we queued nearly 2.5 hours to get through security so no time to grab anything to eat, than on the flight they only had Pot Noodles no sandwiches or anything."

Donna Button commented: "So you get through check in and security late, don’t have time to grab food because you're rushed to the gate, then no food on board. Sounds like a delightful journey."

Cheryl Dockerty added: "If it was staff shortages then surely it would affect all airports. We flew recently with Jet2 and they told us they were having supply issues so not everything was available from the menus and duty free."

Jodie Marie claims: "Disgusting, my parents paid for extra leg room and little luxuries. The 1 break they manage to squeeze in after the past 3 years have been cancelled and they work hard every day of the year to be told the day before TUI are borrowing a Latvian airline from Manchester nothing hot on board no extra room nothing. Absolute c***. Staff shortages? When people are struggling to get work who are desperate and over trained."

Jacob Revells raised concerns over health issues, he said: "Not a choice if you have anaemia or a condition that requires food it's a human right in most countries."

Here is a list of airports which will host flights which will be affected:
