Fans divided over Jamie Carragher's request to UEFA after Arsenal vs Bayern Munich and Real Madrid vs Man City

Jamie Carragher has made a major request to UEFA after Tuesday's Champions League thrillers involving Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

The four teams are all at level pegging ahead of the second legs of their respective quarter-final ties, with Arsenal drawing 2-2 at home to Bayern Munich and City involved in a 3-3 scoreline at Real Madrid.

Both ties were full of drama, with Arsenal feeling they should have had a late penalty when Bukayo Saka collided with Manuel Neuer.

In the other clash at the Bernabeu, Federico Valverde's 79th-minute stunner ensured a share of the spoils for Real ahead of the second leg in Manchester.

As far as Champions League nights go, this was one of the finest in memory - and Carragher has made a special request to UEFA chiefs after both matches came to an end.

The Liverpool legend has argued that, instead of the two games kicking off at the same time, the timings should be staggered to allow fans to watch both games.

That would avoid viewers having to either switch between channels, or only commit to watching one game in its entirety.

Taking to Twitter, he said: "Can we stagger the kick-offs in the Champions League knockouts please?"

Some fans were in agreement with Carragher, with one writing: "Totally agree, it's a farce to have missed one of those games tonight."

A second agreed: "I jumped between games and impressively managed to miss nearly every goal."

A third said: "Been asking for this for years!"

Others, though, were concerned that the change would affect match-going fans, with one stating: "Nah. Worse for fans going to the game."

A second said: "Then the real fans get shafted."

And a third joked: "You just know they'd [both] be 0-0."

The Champions League continues on Wednesday evening, as PSG host Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund take on Atletico Madrid. They will have some way to go to match the chaos we saw on Tuesday night.
