Uefa Nations League draw LIVE as England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland opponents decided

There are some good memories for Wales and Scotland in their Nations League groups, as well.

While Wales have a tough group against Belgium, Netherlands and Poland in A4, a third place finish should earn them a play-off place for Euro 2024.

Four of England’s group games will take place in June 2022, with the other two in September.

The Three Lions will need to top the group in order to qualify for the Nations League finals.

England will face Italy, Germany and Hungary in a mouthwatering League A Group 3 in the 2022/23 Nations League.

Gareth Southgate’s side faced the prospect of a tough draw after they finished last season’s competition third in Group A2, behind Belgium and Denmark, leaving them in pot 2, and the result was a group against their great rivals Germany and Euro 2020 final conquerers Italy.

England beat Germany 2-0 in a tense Wembley quarter-final before losing a penalty shootout to Italy after a 1-1 draw in the final.

England also faced Hungary in 2022 World Cup qualifying. Hungary were handed a one-match stadium ban by Fifa after their fans racially abused England players Raheem Sterling and Jude Bellingham in a qualifier in September.

England’s group is undoubtedly the highlight, while there is also a repeat of the 2018 World Cup final between France and Croatia and a nice clash between Spain and Portugal to look forward to.

Wales have received a horror draw and will be up against some of the best players in the world when they face Belgium, Netherlands and Poland.

Scotland and Ireland played out two classic matches in qualifying for Euro 2016.

What a draw that is for England! Apart from having to face Hungary again, following the off-the-field troubles that marred their two clashes in the World Cup qualifying, the Three Lions will face Italy and Germany in two huge matches next June and September.
