EXTRA WALK-IN BOOSTER CLINICS ANNOUNCED FOR WESTRIDGE CENTRE

4 walk-in booster clinics at the COVID-19 vaccination centre at Westridge in Ryde have been announced, with anyone over the age of 18 invited to attend.

In a bid to beat the Omicron tidal wave, the Government has confirmed that the vaccination programme is itself being given a boost in order to ensure all over 18s receive a booster jab by 31st December – a whole month earlier than originally planned.

The national booking system is under significant pressure with many struggling to access the online portal. Even when accessed, it is seemingly hard to find an available appointment at the Riverside vaccination centre in Newport.

Instead, Islanders are invited to attend Westridge Centre in Ryde on:

• Wednesday 15th December – 08:30-18:00WALK-INS – anyone over 18 (previous vaccine at least 3 months prior)

• Thursday 16th December – 08:30-18:00BOOKED APTS ONLY (but walk-in for 1st and 2nd jabs)

• Friday 17th December – 08:30-18:00BOOKED APTS ONLY (but walk-in for 1st and 2nd jabs)

• Saturday 18th December – 09:00-15:00WALK-INS – anyone over 18 (previous vaccine at least 3 months prior)
