Andrew Garfield has admitted he and co-star Florence Pugh were both left red faced after an embarrassing error during a sex scene for their new movie We Live In Time.

The actor, 41, stars in the romantic-comedy opposite the actress, 28, and made the revelation during his appearance on Friday's The Graham Norton Show.

Giggling, Andrew recalled how the pair failed to hear the director call 'cut' and continued smooching despite the cameras having stopped rolling and crew leaving.

'[Me and Florence are] looking at each other and trying to stay in the moment, but also we can read each other's mind going "What do we do? What's going on? Why isn't anyone saying anything?"'.

'I said "It's not my job to say cut" and she said "It's not my job to say cut" and this was all happening telepathically'

Andrew then revealed that it was he who finally looked up only to realise the cameras were no longer facing them and the crew had turned their backs.

He went on: 'Then it was Florence in all her brilliance and jubilance went "Oh my god this is the most embarrassing thing of my life!"'.

We Live In Time follows the 'unconventional' love story of a recent divorcée and an on-the-rise chef.

The first trailer sees Almut (Florence) and Tobias (Andrew)  brought together in a surprise meeting that changes their lives forever.

Through snapshots of their life together - including falling for each other, creating a home and building a family - a difficult truth is uncovered that rocks the relationship's foundation to the core.

As they embark on a 10-year romance that is challenged by time limits, they learn to treasure every moment of their unconventional love story.

Meanwhile Florence recently revealed after wrapping on the movie forced to reevaluate her personal life and how she many sacrifices she had made.

In an interview with The Times, she revealed how 'relationships came and went' after she split from her long-term boyfriend, Zach Braff, in 2022.

She said: 'I had this opportunity to look at my life away from my work. And I realised, OK, I need to wake the f*** up.

'I had to look away from my career, from movies, from wanting to be this kind of actor, that kind of actor. Or how many awards I would love to get before I pass away.

'That’s been my focus for ten years, but I want to make sure that the things I need to do, whether children, family, change, change in relationships … well, I realised I need to make changes now. Because I’m a worker bee and that is why I’ve never wanted a break. Everything was just, wow! What’s next? And it is only ten years in that I can now go, oh, I need to do a bit of my life.'

The Hollywood star decided to take a career hiatus this year - her first since her debut film, The Falling, in 2014 - to focus on her personal life.

In September, the actress then confirmed her relationship status after sparking romance rumours with Peaky Blinders star Finn Cole.

Florence was seen slipping out of The Perfect Couple premiere after-party as she made a quick getaway with the actor.

Confirming her loved-up status during her October cover shoot with Vogue, she said: 'I am. OK, so something that I resonate with is that I believe that if magic is real, then it's falling in love.'

Florence candidly revealed they are 'figuring it out' and admitted she is ready to start a family.

She added: 'We are figuring what we actually are. And I think for the first time, I'm not allowing myself to go on a roller-coaster.

'I'm allowing myself to take time to let something evolve and let it be completely real to its core, as opposed to racing into that.'

'Falling is the most amazing feeling but unfortunately if that's the only thing that you know in a relationship, then that's the thing that you chase. That's not gonna last.'

Prior to Finn, Florence was in a relationship with former Scrubs star Zach, 49, from 2019 until their split in 2022.

Giving a rare insight into their relationship, the star explained: 'I had to be public in the past because people were bullying me and bullying my partner.

'Mine and Zach's relationship was actually quite private until it was nasty, and I could see the toll that it was taking on him and us and our families. And that's when I spoke out.

'I think for anyone I'm with, I want to protect them. It's not nice knowing that people are saying the worst things I've ever read about someone that I love.

'So that was necessary. I needed to talk about it. I think any relationship in this limelight is going to be stressed.'
