BBC Countryfile presenter Anita Rani's 'dark' year after marriage ends
Countryfile presenter Anita Rani, 47, has opened up about her life after divorcing her ex-husband Bhupi last September, following 14 years of marriage. The BBC favourite spoke candidly about her single life and the possibility of finding love again, reports the Express.
In a conversation with Woman magazine, she expressed gratitude for her health and the safety of her family, despite acknowledging that it's been a "It's been a very dark, very traumatic year. I'm just going to be taking a moment to remember what I've got."
She also shared her excitement about being newly single in her forties, stating, "It's so exciting! I don't do resolutions but let's see what 2025 brings. I feel really positive, excited and energised. I feel like there's potential."
When asked if she was open to finding love again, Anita responded positively, saying: "That would be nice, wouldn't it?" Before adding: "Who knows? [I'll see] what Santa brings."
Previously, she had expressed her joy at being single in an interview with Good Housekeeping, where she said: "I feel like I've stepped into a place that I never, ever expected myself to be in. I'm in uncharted territory. I'm a single, Asian woman with no children, and do you know what? I love it! I've sort of got a blank slate in front of me, and that feels really good."
Anita disclosed last year that her marriage to ex-husband Bhupi, whom she married in 2009 after a year of dating, ended on good terms as their demanding careers caused them to drift apart. She has since moved back into a flat she bought two decades ago.
