Countryfile presenter Anita Rani on 'dark' truth after marriage break ...

Anita Rani split from her ex-husband Bhupi last September after 14 years of marriage. The Countryfile presenter, 47, addressed the difficult year she faced.

The BBC favourite opened up about life following her divorce from her former husband Bhupi as she addressed single life and finding romance again.

Speaking about what she will be most thankful for Anita said, "Being alive, healthy and that my family is safe."

She continued to Woman magazine: "It's been a very dark, very traumatic year. I'm just going to be taking a moment to remember what I've got.

"We've got so much to be grateful for."

The on-screen star addressed being newly single in her forties as she made a candid discovery.

"It's so exciting!" she exclaimed. "I don't do resolutions but let's see what 2025 brings. I feel really positive, excited and energised. I feel like there's potential."

Asked if she is looking for love, the Countryfile presenter admitted she certainly would consider meeting someone new.

Anita commented: "That would be nice, wouldn't it?"

"Who knows? [I'll see] what Santa brings."

She has previously shared her joy at being single. "I feel like I've stepped into a place that I never, ever expected myself to be in."

Anita told Good Housekeeping. “I'm in uncharted territory. I'm a single, Asian woman with no children, and do you know what? I love it! I've sort of got a blank slate in front of me, and that feels really good."

Last year Anita revealed that her marriage to ex-husband Bhupi, whom she wed in 2009 after dating for a year, ended amicably as their demanding careers led them to grow apart.

She has since returned to a flat she purchased 20 years ago.
