ARK: Survival Ascended Delays The Center Map But Will Still Be Adding A New Dino
ARK: Survival Ascended is due for its first major content update at the end of the month. While the update was originally supposed to include The Center, one of the original DLC maps from ARK: Survival Evolved, Studio Wildcard feels that the map still needs more polish and has decided to delay its release indefinitely.
“We’ve made the decision to postpone The Center as it wasn’t on track to launch with the level of quality we require,” the studio explains. “Our dedicated partners – who have been working on The Center while we focus on Scorched Earth – need more time to make sure it meets our expectations and yours. We’re sorry for this change in plans but we know it will be well worth it when The Center launches.”
The Center was originally a user-created map that was eventually released as an official free DLC. Like The Island, it’s made up of a diverse set of biomes ranging from tropical jungles to icy mountain peaks and crystal-filled caverns.
Players can still look forward to a new dino though, which will come in the form of the Gigantoraptor. Its name alone should give you a good idea of what to expect when it appears on The Island a day ahead of schedule on February 28.
In the meantime, the Love Ascended event has been extended until February 26 to keep players busy while they wait for the new dino to arrive.
