Dame Arlene Phillips has revealed what the stars really got up to when they were removed from the castle during I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.

The celebrities were taken out of the main camp when Storm Arwen caused havoc for the show's production team.

For the first time in its nearly two-decade history, I'm A Celebrity had to be cancelled for three nights at the end of its first week on-air.

Upon its return, hosts Ant and Dec showed pictures of the damage the storm cause to the production site and explained the celebrities were evacuated as a precaution and taken to separate locations without phones, internet or TVs.

However, Dame Arlene, who at 78 was the oldest ever contestant to take part in the ITV series, has revealed what really happened when they left camp.

The former Strictly judge, who became the first celebrity to leave Gwrych Castle after receiving the fewest public votes on Sunday night, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday.

When asked by hosts Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis what she got up to during the show's shutdown, Arlene said: "We definitely didn’t get our phones back, I wish.

"The only thing we had to watch was Netflix, no news, no family contact, nothing.

"We spent a day in the castle, we didn’t know where we were going to go, what was going to happen.

"We got taken into separate houses, we were given some food. For me it was a blessing in [disguise]. It was weird being in isolation."

Arlene also revealed she was able to do a DIY job on her roots before heading back into camp before adding: "When we went back into the castle, we just immediately got on with the job at hand."

When the show returned last Tuesday, Ant and Dec revealed what the campmates had tired to smuggle back into camp.

Showing off the tray of goodies, viewers were able to see Vaseline, apples, boiled sweets, fake tan, nail file, breakfast biscuits and a brooch.

Ant insisted: "This is genuine. This is what they tried to smuggle in."

Dec joked: "Wow where were they quarantining? Superdrug?" top which Ant replied: "Don't be silly it was Boots."
