I'm A Celebrity stars choked up this evening as they said goodbye to Arlene Phillips, who became the first campmate to leave the show.

The dance legend, 78, broke records as she became the oldest contestant to ever take part on the show.

Ahead of this evening's eviction, each star said a few heartfelt words as they prepared to say goodbye to one of the group.

Dance legend Arlene Phillips, 78, said she was immensely grateful for the help she had received.

“Everybody has rallied around me, taken care of me, been there for me when I’m fragile and it means so much,” she said. “Thank you all and yes I will miss you.”

Emmerdale star Danny Miller added: “I can honestly say I understand what an instant bond means, an instant love means, because I do genuinely have an instant bond with all of you.”

Paralympian Kadeena Cox, who was diagnosed with MS in 2014, grew tearful, saying:. “When I got ill, I felt like I lost control of me. And I lost me.

“You’ve helped me to remember who Kadeena is. I’m not defined by my illness.”

EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt didn’t get very far as he said: “You find out about yourself… you find out… why am I getting emotional?”

And Radio DJ Snoochie Shy added: “We’ve had sh*t times, but we’ve had lit times, do you know what I’m saying? After the WhatsApp group is formed for Castle Crew, I would hope that everyone will be in there, batting back and forth.”

Ex-footballer David Ginola has really made an impression at the castle, not least when he stripped off for a wash.

Seeing his toned torso, Corrie star Simon Gregson joked David would make a great 007.

Singing the theme tune from the movies he said: “They’re looking for a new Bond, we’ve got him. Mr Ginola is James Bond.”

The actor then gamely whipped off his own top and the pair started singing and dancing to The Full Monty.

Afterwards, Simon said: “David is like Superman, I on the other hand am more like Winnie the Pooh. I think both have their places in our world.”

Later, Naughty Boy arrived for his seventh trial, this time flanked by Olympian Matty Lee for Gross Vegas.

In the fourth round the pair had to sit inside The Grot Machine and try to catch large coins as fish guts, offal and gunge poured down on them.

The pair won six out of eleven stars, and a dinner of hare for the campers.
