I'm A Celebrity 2021: Dame Arlene Phillips first star eliminated

Dame Arlene Phillips is the first contestant to be eliminated from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Of Here! 2021.

Presenters Ant and Dec entered the castle to deliver the news that the former Strictly Come Dancing judge had received the least votes and therefore would be leaving the castle.

Just 10 celebrities remain in the competition now, with the final due to take place next Sunday.

Speaking to the hosts following her exit, Dame Arlene said she was ‘in a way relieved’.

‘You know, I want to see my family, but (I’m) emotional because of everything this has been, the highs and the lows, it’s been something in my life that I never imagined doing and it’s been extraordinary,’ she added.

The professional dancer said it was ‘much harder’ than she had anticipated it being, and explained: ‘I’d psyched myself up, I was so prepared for it…

‘I’d focused on why I was doing this and what I want to achieve and get out of it you know for my granddaughter, to try to show I was fearless but it is hard.’

She cited her friend from the camp, musician Naughty Boy, as the person she wants to win.

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, Naughty Boy and Matty Lee won six stars for camp in the Gross Vegas trial.

First up, Matty faced Rotten Roulette. If the ball landed on the one star symbol, he’d win it and move on. However, if it landed on a symbol for testicles or penis, that’s what he’d have to eat to win the stars.

Dec noted that he had to spin twice, to which Matty said: ‘That’s good, two chances of eating a penis…’

First spin Matty landed on testicles and was served two turkey testicles to eat.

On his second spin, he landed on testicles again. He laughed: ‘My favourite!’

Offering some to Naughty Boy, Matty said: ‘Do you want a bit?’ to which Naughty Boy chuckled: ‘Not today.’
