On OffGolden chance for Gordon after a brilliant run up the whitewash from Diogo Jota with immaculate control and pace to leave Ben White chasing shadows. He beats him all ends up, cuts inside and pulls back a pass to Gordon by the spot and all he has to do is sweep it in with his left foot but he hacks it over the bar. Klopp does a Rumpelstiltskin jig of frustration before seemingly spotting it was Gordon and relenting.
Fantastic crossfield diagonal from Lokonga picks out Lacazette to the right of the D. He stuns it with one touch then bludgeons a half-volley over, hitting it too high on the bounce to sneak it beneath the bar.
Saka is sent down the right and he cuts in on to his left foot, rolls it to Odegaard who tries to scoop it over Van Dijk from the 18-yard line, hoping that Saka would steal round the back. But Robertson was alive to it and mopped it up. It was too complex. Just have a shot.
Kelleher races off his line to smother a deflection back into his box that was spinning towards Lacazette.
Thomas Partey, who only flew into London from Yaounde at midday, was warming up at half-time. Arsenal kick off and, as so often, Tierney leads the fight.
Ibrahima Konate replaces the oddly out of sorts Joel Matip.
Arsenal failed to make their dominance in the opening 20 minutes tell and though Liverpool equalised against the run of play, they have been comfortably on top ever since. Mikel Arteta has to find a way to get Lacazette, Smith Rowe and Saka into the game.
Yellow card for Lacazette for wiping out Jones by treading on his foot with a late challenge.
Liverpool are sweeping the ball between back four and midfield, inciting the Arsenal crowd to urge their players to snap into the press but Liverpool, in this move, are too slick for them.
Arsenal can't get the right side of their attack working and both Smith Rowe and Saka are starved of ball. Martinelli, by contrast, is having a feast day down the left.
Lokonga brings the ball out of the heart of the box, shimmies and strides forward, beating one man until he is fouled as he tries to beat a second. Free-kick, which Arsenal play back and across then back and across again until Tierney is blocked on a run up the left and they switch it all over again.
Odegaard clips Jota on the back of the left ankle after winning the ball in a tackle from behind. Liverpool free-kick on halfway.
Lokonga plays his goal into danger with a hospital pass square across the box but his team-mates manage to hustle it away.
Matip is having an off night, giving the ball away for the third time at the cost of a corner when his team-mates rally to help him out and stop Saka's effort.
Liverpool defend the corner solidly and Tierney tries to knock the ball back upfield but sends it steepling twice instead of a more horizontal trajectory.
Henderson and Fabinho have started to take a grip on midfield and are pushing Arsenal back as they probe up the left and right and set up camp in the opposition half.
Gabriel has to rush the ball out for a throw when Van Dijk launches one over the top.
Gordon tries to weave his way into the box but is dispossessed by Tierney who motors off upfield and slips Martinelli in to the left of the D. The forward takes a touch to set up a shot but Fabinho slides in with a wonderful tackle to rob him and though the crowd want a penalty they're not getting one. Impeccable timing.
The goal has certainly quietened the crowd. Arsenal, who were dominating up their left, have found it difficult to find any rhythm after going behind.
A goal against the run of play and a rare mistake from Tomiyasu.
A Firmino backheel 20 yards outside his own box sets Alexander-Arnold on a run into the Arsenal half. He sweeps a pass across to Diogo Jota on the left and he cuts inside, dips his shoulder, gulls Tomiaysu who ends up on his backside, and makes for the D. As White slides in to block the shot, Jota scuffs and hooks it which thwarts the defender and wrongfoots the keeper as it bobbles past him into the bottom left corner.
Arsenal 0-1 Liverpool (Jota)
Van Dijk, looking for Gordon with a long diagonal chip, parts the youngster's hair at the apex of his leap and the ball goes out for an Arsenal throw.
Matip makes another mistake, hooking a simple pass up the right wing out for a throw-in under pressure from Martinelli.
Firminho hounds White when he was trying to cushion a pass, knocking the ball out for a throw-in. It's not much but at least a sign of more Liverpool intensity from the front.
Liverpool break the stranglehold with a corner that Fabinho wins at the back post and bullets a header back across goal. Matip turns it in but was offside when Fabinho met the cross.
It's all Arsenal as a front-foot force and Martinelli is giving Alexander-Arnold a torrid time. The latest Arsenal attacking wave ends with a clumsy foul on Henderson. Klopp is very animated on the touchline.
Liverpool are uncharacteristically tentative so far and Arsenal far more aggressive in the press and with their shape. Tomiyasu cuts out a crossfield pass and feeds Odegaard who switches it to the left for Smith Rowe. He dribbles forward and slips it down the outside for Martinelli to run on to and hang up a cross that Kelleher goes for and is knocked to the floor illegally for his troubles.
Lacazette takes and dinks it over the wall in a neat up and over. Kelleher's quick feet take him across goal to towards his left post and he scrapes it on to the bar and away from danger.
Matip misplaces a pass, Tierney wins it and scoops a cross to the edge of the box where Saka is tripped as he tried to control the ball and set up a shot. Free-kick, inside the D.
Martinelli and Tierney team up on the left to run at Alexander-Arnold who stays strong and stabs the ball out for a corner after trying to diddle him in the dribble. A deflected Martinelli shot from the first corner earns another. Saka bends it into the hear of the penalty area, Van Dijk heads it away from goal but Arsenal battle awy as the ball pinballs through the box.
After the players all take the knee, Liverpool kick off, attacking from right to left. Odegaard is sitting deep and he is sticking fairly close to Jones. Robertson cuts in off the left flank and dribbles into the Arsenal half but the hosts hold him off and force Liverpool to work the ball back to Kelleher.
With Saka in his usual spot on the right.

There are players who haven’t had any training sessions but we had to put a team out there. I am trying to look after them, and the players are really willing to come back and try to play. We didn’t have anybody else. Thomas Partey was really disappointed to be out of the Afcon but he landed at midday today and came straight to the hotel, and he wants to be on the bench, ready to help.
Kaide is a right winger, he did exceptionally well last time and in training. Caoimhin [Kelleher] played all the time in this competition, just not last time because we had to give Alisson some rhythm after his Covid break, but this is the Kelleher competition so that’s why he’s playing.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool have made three changes for the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final at the Emirates Stadium.
The first leg finished goalless to leave the tie finely poised, with Chelsea awaiting the winners in February's final.
Arsenal recalled fit-again trio Takehiro Tomiyasu, Emile Smith Rowe and Martin Odegaard in place of the injured Cedric Soares, suspended Granit Xhaka and Eddie Nketiah, who dropped to the bench.
Liverpool, too, made a trio of alterations, Caoimhin Kelleher replacing Alisson Becker in goal as Kaide Gordon and Curtis Jones also came in for James Milner and Takumi Minamino.
