It will take something special to down City but Villa will fancy their chances after two wins from two under the new boss - against Brighton and Crystal Palace.

Those victories have at least pushed the side clear of the drop zone and three more points could send them into the top half.

For City, the gap to leaders Chelsea is down to a point and the Blues’ earlier trip to Watford on the same evening may provide them with a chance to reclaim first position.
