Activists are protesting at Placa de la Universitat in Barcelona as of evening Aug. 3. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce alleged fraud in Venezuela's July 28 elections. Several hundred participants are in attendance.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or activists from opposing camps cannot be ruled out.
