Bayer Leverkusen will look to extend their unbeaten run to 48 matches when they face Eintracht Frankfurt in Sunday’s Bundesliga contest.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Frankfurt head into Sunday’s fixture off the back of an underwhelming run of form. Die Adler experienced a four-game winless run, before they recorded a 3-1 win over Augsburg in their most recent home game. However, they were unable to back up that result in last Saturday’s away meeting with Bayern Munich. Hugo Ekitike cancelled out Harry Kane’s opener to send the teams into the break on level terms. However, Kane netted a 61st-minute spot-kick to condemn Frankfurt to a third consecutive away defeat.

Despite winning just one of their previous six games, Frankfurt are still on course to finish the season in sixth position. Having picked up 45 points from 31 matches, die Adler are currently four points ahead of seventh-placed Freiburg. As a result, they will secure a top-six finish if they claim all three points in Sunday's home clash.

Dino Toppmöller’s side have proven to be a tough team to beat at Deutsche Bank Park, having avoided defeat in each of their previous nine home league games.

Team News

The hosts are unable to call upon the injured quartet of Sebastian Rode, Mehdi Loune, Saša Kalajdžić and Nnamdi Collins.

Bayer Leverkusen

Leverkusen have drawn both of their league games since thrashing Werder Bremen 5-0 to clinch their first Bundesliga title. Xabi Alonso’s side played out a 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund, before they fought back from two goals down to take a point off Stuttgart. Die Werkself ultimately returned to winning ways in Thursday’s trip to the Italian capital. Florian Wirtz and Robert Andrich grabbed a goal apiece to guide Leverkusen to a 2-0 win in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.

Die Werkself will have one eye on Thursday’s return leg at the BayArena, but they will have to negotiate a league game against Frankfurt before they can turn their full attention to that crucial European clash. The visitors cruised to a 3-0 win in December’s reverse fixture, but they have lost each of their last five away meetings with Frankfurt. As a result, they are looking to beat Frankfurt at Deutsche Bank Park for the first time since November 2017.

Team News

Leverkusen have reported no fresh injury concerns, leaving Alonso with a fully fit squad to choose from.
