BBC Breakfast viewers have threatened to switch off after Naga Munchetty's interview with Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care of Scotland, Neil Gray was aired on BBC One.

Naga, 49, began the interview by asking Neil if he thinks the Scottish National Party will be able to hold onto the 48 out of 59 seats they won in the 2019 election.

He responded: "We'll be fighting for every single vote and campaigning hard to earn and re-earn the trust of people of Scotland, people of individual constituancies, door by door, street by street."

Naga jumped in and said: "Can I bring you back to the question for just a moment? Do you think you'll be able to hold onto those 48 seats?"

Neil explained: "So I said we'll be fighting for," before Naga jumped in again and expressed: "No, no, of course you're going to fight, every party is fighting. Have you looked at the polls? Do you think you'll hold onto them?"

Viewers weren't happy with the interview and flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to air their grievances.

One person expressed: "These political interviews make me scream. None of them answer the questions they just talk. There should be a rule that if they don’t answer a question the interview should be terminated.

"Waste of space todays SNP man should’ve been dumped from the screen #bbcbreakfast." (sic)

Another user slammed: "These politicians (all parties), should be given two opportunities to answer the questions the presenter has asked, then cut them off and conclude the interview if not answered! #bbcbreakfast."

Somebody else wasn't happy with Naga as they penned: "Yet again I have switched off as Ms Manchetti keeps haranguing and interrupting her studio guest. So rude, and impossible to follow." (sic)

Yet another exclaimed: "Neil Gray having a bit of a multi car pile up interview on #bbcbreakfast this morning.Naga + politician. Time to switch off #bbcbreakfast."

While a fifth added: "Naga, sounded bored stiff!#bbcbreakfast." (sic)

BBC Breakfast airs from 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
