BBC Breakfast fans swoon over presenter as they beg for permanent
On Monday's instalment of BBC Breakfast, viewers tuned in to get the latest headlines with Jon Kay and Nina Warhurst.

BBC Breakfast fans were thrilled during Bank Holiday Monday’s show as Nina Warhurst was fronting the programme alongside Jon Kay. The journalist has been a regular face on the show since 2018 and was appointed as BBC Breakfast’s Business Presenter four years ago.

Although the mum-of-three usually reports on certain segments throughout the show, she was at the forefront on Monday morning. This makes a change from the regular presenter line-up as Sally Nugent tends to host at the beginning of the week next to Jon.

Sally’s absence wasn’t mentioned during the show, although viewers were quick to praise her replacement. @MarleySidTVFan said: “Hello @BBCBreakfast. I think you should give Nina Warhurst a full-time role on the programme, she’s too good and not on enough for my liking. #BBCBreakfast”.

Agreeing, @Susan05713606 added: “Totally agree with you, she's so natural, a brilliant presenter.” @GuideDogManor commented: “@BBCBreakfast @NinaWarhurst May the lovely Nina have a most wonderful Bank Holiday Monday. #BBCBreakfast.”

@MillieJonesView tweeted: “Tuned into #BBCBreakfast this morning. Looks like miserable Sally has decided she cannot work a bank holiday. Oh well! Much prefer her replacement Nina anyway.” With @BCollier2012 adding: “#bbcbreakfast Nina's looking very summery this morning..”

This isn’t the first time the BBC show has had a shake-up as Nina was seen holding down the fort solo last week.

As Charlie Stayt was reporting live from Downing Street on Thursday, following Rishi Sunak’s announcement of a general election, Nina was hosting in the studio alone.

Again, Nina stepped in for regular host Naga Munchetty, who was missing from the iconic red sofa.

Although the 43-year-old has been making more of a presence on the show over the last few days, that didn’t stop her from enjoying some family fun on the weekend.

Nina shared an adorable snap on social media with one of her children in their home.

Lifting him up into the air, the pair were beaming with excitement over the football results as her son was wearing a sports kit.

She captioned the snap: “Taking a break from social media, but if I wasn’t… I’d probably post this [sic]

“#MUFC, Many a memory of Wembley with my Dad today. Magic.”

The post comes almost two months after the BBC host revealed she was taking a step back from social media.

At the end of March, Nina told her followers she was signing off for a few weeks after finding herself scrolling all the time.

She wrote: “Catching up on people’s stories, having a nosey at how people live who have nothing to do with me, and (the absolute grossest) checking for likes [sic]]. Enough is enough.”

BBC Breakfast continues weekdays on BBC One from 6am.
