The Absolute Best Black Friday Deals Still Live Tonight
Don’t get lost in a desert of dodgy Black Friday discounts, welcome to WIRED’s oasis of delectable deals.

While Black Friday may land on the US national holiday Thanksgiving Weekend, making some sense of it being a five-day online shopping bonanza, here it arrives… at the end of November. While we’re all working. In a normal week well before any Christmas festivities have landed. We do have I’m A Celebrity, though, mind you.

Well, no matter. A good deal is a good deal whenever it comes along. Now, the trouble is there are many good deals during the Black Friday sales that are so far from actually being “good” or indeed any kind of “deal” that it requires considerable determination and fortitude to sift through the detritus and unearth the genuine bargains. Fortunately, we’ve done the hard yards for you here, so you can sit back and effortlessly happen upon the finest gear on offer right now i.e the best Black Friday deals. Our deal edits will keep rolling through to the Cyber Monday ‘sales events’ for Amazon, John Lewis, Currys, Argos and more.

WIRED's Top Picks: The Best Black Friday Deals

Apple updated its lauded AirPods Pro earphones this year, with a case that supports MagSafe charging. The rest remains largely the same, but that’s no bad thing. You get very effective noise cancellation and much better sound quality than the standard AirPods, including the latest-generation version. Typical of an Apple Black Friday deal, this reduction is not jaw-dropping, but does mean now is the right time to buy.

Huawei’s MateBook D 15 has been around for a few years now and, each year, it brings a ton of value and style to the budget laptop market. This deal means you get the very latest 11th Gen Intel Core i5 chip alongside a 512GB SSD and 8GB RAM all for under £500. The design does ape quite a big from Apple’s MacBook look but, to do that at this low price, is actually quite a selling point.

Robot vacuums are an absolutely godsend, saving achy backs everywhere. Maker of useful cables and battery packs Anker obliged and launched a home-focused sub brand Eufy to bring its budget RoboVacs to market. The 30C carefully navigates your rooms, dodging obstacles via included boundary strips you can place down and, when done, it’ll return to its base for a rest and a battery top-up. For more suction power and no need to place boundary strips, you should consider the eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 15C MAX (£133).

This is our favourite budget phone at the moment, with a spec sheet that belies the relatively low price tag. There’s a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that runs at a silky smooth 120Hz, a respectable quad-lens camera, and fast-charging support. The distinctly ordinary Snapdragon 732G processor, and the lack of 5G, wireless charging, and water-proofing are all that give away its budget nature.

The Surface Laptop 4 is one of the best looking ultrabooks around and the Laptop Go is a pared back but still refreshingly stylish budget-friendly equivalent. This high-quality student-aimed laptop is extremely well made and is ideal for writing essays and the like with a Core i5 processor, 128GB SSD and 8GB RAM. Microsoft offers three subtle yet appealing colour options for a fresh look too.

This previous generation Echo Dot is down to a startlingly low price, while still offering much of the functionality you’ll get from the new version. It’ll also please you if you prefer puck-shaped smart speakers over orb-shaped ones—a brainteaser of a decision if we’ve ever seen one.

The M1 MacBook Air is nothing short of a marvel. This laptop offers top drawer ultrabook performance without the need for a fan. At under £900, it's now even giving rivals— that you’d typically think of as offering more inviting pricing than Apple—a run for their money too.

Bose doesn’t like to discount its newer products, so this means the QuietComfort Noise Cancelling Earbuds’ £70 reduction is not only a strange occurrence, it’s also very welcome indeed. With possibly the best earphone active noise cancellation around, having taken on competition from the Sony WF-1000XM4 and AirPods Pro, these buds are not to be ignored. Yes, they have slightly boosted bass, but they are still a quality listen all-round.

This Braun beard trimmer is truly a jack-of-all-trades, with a whopping 10 attachments. We’ve tested this one thoroughly and despite its versatility it is far from just a master of none, getting the job done no matter the attachment.

The Soundcore 2 is one of Anker's most popular lines, a small Bluetooth speaker made for those who don’t want to spend too much on portable audio. At £28 it’s a bit of a no-brainer, even though it has been this price several times before. The Soundcore 2 spends most of the year at £40, dropping down to £28 at Amazon for just a handful of days, a couple of times a year. Now is the time to jump, in other words. It's a highly useful little speaker, as it is highly water resistant and can generate a lot of bass and impressive sound scale considering its size.

Apple’s second generation Pencil now charges wirelessly, rather than sticking out the end of an iPad—making it look like an oversized lollipop. If that’s not sold you, then it’s worth bearing in mind that it also makes for a quality stylus that’s supremely accurate and enables a range of smart scribbling features.

Amazon’s video doorbell brand is a useful way to save you some time when it comes to checking your front door as well as an extra layer of security. This model is wireless, making setup a breeze as well.

The best all-round true wireless earphones right now. The Sony WF-1000XM4 are new-for-2021, and combine excellent sound quality with smart active noise cancellation and long battery life, for a true wireless pair. Sony also improved the shell design. It made the earpieces smaller and got rid of the slightly Bluetooth headset-adjacent look of the still-great - and superb at this price - Sony WF-1000XM3 (down to £99).

Sage coffee makers are great if you want a machine that makes you feel a bit like a barista. It's even in the name here. The Sage Barista Express is a combined grinder and espresso maker, plus a steam wand. This means you can create pretty much any coffee formulation you like. It’s bean-to-cup, but the steps in-between the stages are manual rather than automated. This coffee machine is the cheapest the Barista Express has been since last year's sales.

When you get the same stylish design as the 9 Pro as well as the slick Snapdragon 888 processor, the OnePlus 9 seems to be a diddy version of one of our fave Android phones, but hold up… there are some vital differences. The 6.55-inch display has a 120Hz refresh rate, but crucially it’s not variable in this model, and this means the battery will take a hit, and the 1080p resolution won’t make your socks roll up and down, either. And the triple-lens camera could be better, too. However, a sizable Black Friday discount bringing this blower down way below £500 makes it an appealing pick nonetheless.

Yes Apple dominates in the smartwatch arena, but they’re not the only game in town. Fitbit offers cheap and cheerful fitness trackers, and they’re well worth your consideration. The Charge 4 is one of our top picks and has GPS, swim tracking and sleep monitoring all for less than £100. What’s more, the battery life on offer here (at up to seven days) knocks Apple’s efforts into a cocked hat. Aside from fitness tracking, you get phone and app notifications, such as timers and weather reports etc, too.

The Beats Solo 3 Wireless are wireless headphones from the new era of Beats. Soft, unrefined bass has been traded in for a more balanced and refined signature, making them genuinely very competitive with any brand you might mention at the Black Friday price of £88. Their battery lasts for up to 40 hours off a charge, they have an iPhone-friendly Apple W1 chipset and an excellent transparency mode — useful for those who go for runs on city streets.

Amazon’s smallest Echo Show is a neat way to add a visual element to your Alexa requests. It’ll display the weather, show your playlist and support video calls too. There's also a manual off switch for the camera and microphones.

Our reigning smartwatch champion by a country mile, only the new Apple Watch Series 7 threatens the supremacy of the Series 6. If you use an iPhone, it’s a premium, feature-rich smartwatch that’s very easy to recommend. Easy to use, speedy, and good-looking, the price is the only thing that may give you pause. The Apple Watch Series 6 with Cellular is also discounted by £100, and there’s £150 off the Stainless Steel and Cellular model.

The MateBook 14 offers a ton of power under the hood and a high resolution display at an extremely competitive price. You’ll find an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 chip, 8GB RAM and a 512GB SSD here—a combination that’s ideal for heavy productivity workloads. The 2K display makes your movies and TVs crisp while a fingerprint sensor makes your logins speedy. There’s also value to be had with a MateBook 14, earbuds and monitor bundle (£1,038) that’s on offer right now too.

Tablets don’t have to cost a bomb and no company showcases that better than Amazon, with its immensely cheap Fire HD range. The latest Fire HD 8 is a small 8in device that can offer up to 12 hours of video watching fun, immersive reading sessions or web scrolling odysseys. Cheap doesn’t have to mean behind the times either—which previous Fire HD tablets were a tad—this new model finally adds USB-C. At 50% off right now, it’s a particularly attractive proposition.

The Surface Laptop remains one of the most well-built and stylish ultrabooks on the market. Microsoft won’t forgive us for saying but it’s very much the MacBook of Windows machines—a sturdy, thin and luxury unibody design. At £700, there’s tremendous value for money to be had, especially with the addition of an AMD Ryzen processor to the 13in model this year. This laptop makes for one of the very best options for student life.

The tablets under £100 market is pretty dominated by Amazon and with good reason. The Fire HD range offers bump-friendly builds, compatibility with all the apps you expect and long battery life. The Fire HD 10 is one of the larger options and provides a 10.1in Full HD display—boosted by 10% more brightness since the last generation. As it's an Amazon device, there’s quite obviously support for the Kindle app and Alexa commands here too.

Sometimes cheap laptops can be a bit chunky and unsightly but this Acer device is supremely thin and can even be picked up in a striking pink colour option. It isn’t blessed with tons of power but, as a first laptop or a device for the odd word-processing task, social media browsing or movie-watching, it’ll do the job. Despite its low price, it remains eligible for a nice new Windows 11 upgrade as well.

No it’s not an iPad, and that’s a good thing. The Paperwhite has been a boon for the Kindle brand, favouring simplicity over all other concerns. If you like e-readers then trust us there’s almost nothing to beat this device, especially at this stunningly low price. You get an adjustable light to go with a battery that can last weeks. Oh, and its waterproof as well, so pool-side or bath time reading is perfectly acceptable. This one is the previous generation, but if you want the latest go for the 'All-new' Kindle Paperwhite (down £25 to £105).

Budget laptops may not seem so budget to many, with quite a few offerings boosting the price steadily to gain attention with traditionally higher quality features. You can forget all that with the HP Stream. This laptop is ideal for a child’s first laptop or a device for those with extremely low requirements. It’s an unassuming device with decent battery life and a simple design.

It’s rare to see a discount this chunky on a laptop that was just recently released but that’s exactly what we have here with this stellar Asus machine. Asus VivoBook range is known for its reliability with some impressive budget options. However, this Pro model takes things to another level with a crisp 4K OLED display, the latest 11th Gen Core i5 processor from Intel and an Nvidia GPU onboard. It’s an impressive combination that’s enhanced further by a hefty 1TB SSD and decent 16GB RAM.

Samsung's recent laptop releases have represented good form after a few years of inconsistency. The Galaxy Book Pro is super thin at just 11.2mm thick and weighs in at just 868g—making it an ideal commuter device. Despite its light weight, it still packs a ton of power and impressive battery life. You’ll be able to upgrade this device to Windows 11 as well towards the end of this year or early next.

Lenovo’s hybrid Chromebook is a great option if you’ve looked at this style of tablet before but not wanted to pay premium Microsoft Surface or Apple iPad prices. It’s extremely portable, making it ideal for taking to class or working in a coffee shop. You are slightly limited by ChromeOS but, if your workload is writing essays, browsing the web or watching movies, this is ideal.

Access to Adobe’s popular suite of creative programs doesn’t come cheap so having its price cut by a third is an offer not to be sniffed at. This plan gives you Photoshop CC, Lightroom and 20GB of cloud storage for one year and it's redeemable on PC or Mac.

Gaming laptops can be pricey devils but the Asus TUF range is often the most inviting when it comes to price, especially with a neat £150 off right now. For your money, you get a Full HD 144Hz panel, the latest Intel Core i5 processor and RTX 350 GPU.

For those who aren’t yet into robot vacuums and prefer to put a bit of elbow grease into it, this Shark vacuum is invitingly well-priced. Its Anti-Hair Wrap technology is at the forefront, preventing the peskiest of vacuum jams. The vacuum itself will run for up to 40 minutes and comes with a simple removable battery for easy charging. The flexing stem also makes this cleaner ideal for getting under furniture and the like.

Black Friday inevitably brings plenty of discounts on Amazon products, with the Echo Dot being a sales season staple. But this bundle sets you up nicely to get your smart home rolling, with two Echo Dots and a handy Smart Plug. These are the previous version of the Echo Dots, which may appeal if the latest orb-shaped versions don’t take your fancy. If you think you may just be in need of a new smart plug, then the Amazon Smart Plug (down to £15) is a tenner off all on its own.

Air fryers are very much all the rage, offering up oil free cooking but still with crispy results. This Proscenic air fryer is our best budget air fryer, based on our testing. It has plenty of room with a 5.5ltr capacity and a basket that’s dishwasher friendly. On the tech side, there’s a simple LED touch screen as well as an app for idea inspiration.

This De’Longhi coffee machine is a feature rich tech marvel. It comes equipped with grinding sensors to ensure a consistent coffee along with a smart tamping station for getying the correct pressure as well as active temperature control. For the creatives among you, there’s even a My LatteArt steam wand for getting that presentation on point.

Smart home security is available now with all the bells and whistles but this reasonably priced single camera system from Blink is a simple way to keep an eye on your home through your phone. This wire-free camera can be placed up on a wall and, along with HD recording and motion detection, has infrared to keep watch during the night too. If you want an all-encompassing system, check out the 4-camera system (£145) down from £275.

Faffing with your age-old thermostat will have likely been a pain in your neck for many years. Now, smart thermostats have been around for a quite a while and this cheap and cheerful Tado can help you out if you’ve not yet upgraded. Along with a simple device to stick on your wall and control things there, you can use the Tado app to keep things in check from your phone. If you’re feeling particularly chilly, there’s Heating Boost to quickly get things toasty in 30 minutes as well as Smart Schedules to accommodate your home’s routine.

Those who have made the switch from instant or pod coffee to a bean-to-cup coffee machine will be able to wax lyrical about the difference it can make—and it doesn’t have to be a timely process. This automatic espresso and cappuccino maker offers simple options for customisation and can brew two cups at once. The grinder itself is silent and there’s also a milk frother built-in too. If you’re worried about the cleaning, this machine comes with an integrated clean function that runs after each use.

We’re big fans of the Eve mattress and crowned it our favourite bed-in-a-box pick for those who suffer from restless nights. The 1,500 full sized springs aim to help you to feel weightless while sleeping—a particularly impressive feat for a mattress that comes in a tightly packed box.

Whether you’re lost in a good book or too busy wrangling the kids to answer the door, a video doorbell is a handy way to deal with folks darkening your door right from your phone. Along with being able to respond to visitors from anywhere in your home, it offers up 1080p quality footage, a built-in siren and night vision. It’s also a doorbell.

The Absolute Best Black Friday Deals Still Live Tonight

Yes, this is on the pricey end of the scale, but we’ve previously badged the Sony A7 III “the best all-round mirrorless camera under £2,000”, but now it’s considerably cheaper thanks to this tasty Black Friday deal. This top-quality full-frame snapper is equally at home capturing 24.2MP stills or 4K video, is a solid bargain at this price. One important warning, however: the £400 discount on offer here includes £200 cashback that you’ll have to claim back from Sony after you buy.

Amazon, Argos

Of course, Amazon's latest and greatest smart speakers have received a discount. The Echo Dot 4th Gen ditched the puck look for a less pedestrian and more futuristic orb design. Along with the revamped build, you get improved sound and microphones, with this model coming with a handy clock too.

A swift way to add a bit of joy and colour to your dour office space or glum TV stand is lightstrips. Lightstrips, like this option from Lifx, can be easily attached to a surface, giving a wall or piece of furniture a delightful glow. This strip works with Alexa, Google Assistant and HomeKit—without the need for a bridge. You likely won’t get bored, with eight zones per strip to customise with your colour of choice and the option to run effects as well.

With the likes of the Oculus Quest 2, Facebook has shown a capability to make decent hardware. The Portal is a decent dedicated video calling device, offering smart camera and sound for letting you wander while you chat. There’s child-attention-keeping cleverness in the form of Story Time and AR effects. The Portal, naturally, works with Messenger and WhatsApp. It also works with Alexa and can display photos when not in use.

If you’re sick of trailing a vacuum around, this mid-tier option from Ecovacs can do the job for you. It comes with laser tech to avoid bumping into things it shouldn’t and it’s also great for both low-pile carpets and hard floors. There’s multi-floor mapping too, a handy feature even if this robovac can’t yet climb stairs.

Light bulbs with customisable colours are on one level. Nanoleaf takes things about ten levels above, enabling clever designs and colour combinations with its Canvas squares. The designs can be easily switched up and reorganised due to a modular build. It doesn’t end with just setting up a colourful pattern you like either. Canvas can be synced to change according to the music you're listening to or, even, mirror the colours on your screen.

New AirPods 3 (£169) may have just hit the shelves but a price hike for the 3rd Gen earbuds from Apple may be a key point of persuasion for sticking to the older models. For under £100, there’s no frills, with just wired charging on offer from this case. However, you get the extreme convenience of using these alongside your iPhone, decent sound and support for issuing voice commands to Siri.

The Sony WH-1000XM3 are last-generation headphones, but they have barely aged. Good headphones don't tend to, which is why these are such a good buy at £160. They originally cost £330. Highlights include top-tier sound quality, highly effective noise cancellation and comfortable pads. The newer WH-1000XM4 have slightly more refined and revealing sound, but it may not be worth the additional £90, or more, for everyone.

Now, Samsung’s latest buds are aimed squarely at taking on the original AirPods, and these earphones  undercut the overpriced new AirPods 3 by some margin. If you’re using them with a Samsung phone expect a pairing experience and user journey that’s simplicity itself, but they also work just fine with other Android mobiles, of course. As a final two-fingers to Apple’s latest entry-level buds, you get active noise cancellation here as well, alongside a stylish range of colours other than “just white”.

This is the cheapest the Jabra 75T Active true wireless earphones have been to date on Amazon. They are among the best sports earphones you can buy, thanks to their IP57 water resistance and powerful sound, which can help when you're flagging during a run. Unlike the newer Jabra 85T, this pair did not launch with active noise cancellation, but Jabra added a moderately effective version of the feature in a firmware update. Other Jabra paris including the less water resistant Jabra 75T and newer Jabra 85T are on sale as part of Black Friday too.

Image may contain Electronics Headphones and Headset

Most Black Friday headphone deals are for the trendy kind of pair: wireless ANC headphones or true wireless earphones. The Sennheiser HD 660 S are old-school, a pair of open-back hifi headphones that will blow most lifestyle sets out of the water for transparency and width. You can only really wear them indoors, they are cabled and they leak sound freely. But if you want a set for late-night movies or gaming, they are excellent. Amazon’s pricing is, just as promised, the lowest price you can get, at £85 lower than that of most other retailers.

These mid-range open back headphones excel at home listening. Their open air cups keep your ears cool and lead to a much more, you guessed it, “open” sound. They will thoroughly outclass almost all sub-£100 wireless headphones for audio quality. However, don’t buy them for outdoors use. This “special edition” is simply a custom colour only sold at Amazon. This deal represents a roughly £50 saving, but some retailers sell this pair for £88 more.

The Forerunner 245 is one of the most accessible Garmin watches, which become almost terrifyingly expensive at the top-end. This one offers everyone most of us need for £150. And it typically costs £199 at the times you should ordinarily consider buying one, £250 when you shouldn’t. That is online pricing for you. For an entry-level watch the Forerunner 245 is pretty advanced. It offers VO2 Max readings, Garmin’s Training Effect — which analyses your workout habits — and up to 24 hour GPS battery life. It should last a week when not tracking marathons. Buy one of these over the Forerunner 45. It's better. This is not the Music version, which can sync songs from Spotify, but as that is left out of the Black Friday sale, the £90 upgrade is not justified.

Billed as the ultimate multi-sport smartwatch, the Fenix 6S is built for the great outdoors with a 3-axis compass, gyroscope, and barometric altimeter joining the usual GPS, heart-rate tracker, and pulse oximeter. It also has an always-on display, Garmin Pay support, and long battery life. We liked the Fenix 6 Pro, and the Fenix 6S Pro is also on sale for £389 (£221 off).

Unless you are desperate for the latest and greatest, we would steer you towards the bigger savings that are available on last year’s model, but that’s not to say we don’t appreciate the charms of the Charge 5. It has everything the Charge 4 has and adds a colour screen and a slimmer design with a stainless steel case.

The Oppo Watch might be as close as you can get to an Apple Watch for Android, at least in terms of looks. The 1.6-inch AMOLED display is a highlight, and the fitness tracking is solid. It also features NFC, GPS, and heart-rate tracking, but there’s no escaping the derivative design (not necessarily a bad thing), and the battery life is limited.

We praised the long battery life and smart looks of the Huawei GT 2 in our best smartwatches guide but noted that the feature set is quite basic. A sharp 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen sits in a stainless steel case, and there’s built-in fitness and health tracking with support for inboard music. But you don’t get any mobile payment support or apps to download.

Image may contain Digital Watch and Wristwatch

Probably the best choice for Android phone owners seeking a slick smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch4 marks a departure for Samsung as it leaves Tizen OS behind and adopts Wear OS 3, Google’s smartwatch platform. The Watch4 boasts a lovely screen, smooth performance, and granular fitness tracking. Sadly, battery life for the smaller model is limited, and app support on Wear OS is still lacking.

When fitness is your main priority, Fitbit has you covered. We appreciate the long battery life, fitness and sleep tracking, and the built-in GPS in this smartwatch. It also has Alexa and Google Assistant on board, but your choice of apps is limited.

Refreshingly lightweight with a slick interface and real depth in its exercise tracking, the Garmin Venu 2 is a great pick for regular exercisers looking to get more out of those workouts. You can expect strong battery life, water resistance, GPS, and heart-rate tracking. There’s NFC, too, but not every bank supports Garmin Pay, and apps are limited.

The flagship Fitbit Sense includes everything that makes the Versa 3 great but comes in a more premium package that includes some interesting health features. The Sense can read electrodermal activity, check your blood oxygenation, and perform an ECG scan. This gives you a warning about any breathing difficulties while you sleep or irregular heart activity that you should have checked out by a doctor.

Bluetooth trackers are such a simple idea that it's surprising it took Apple and Samsung so long to get on board. Now they are, you can pick up Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTags at a super cheap price and its just very helpful when it comes to losing your keys, your bag or frankly anything you can slip this diddy tracking in.

This classy hybrid smartwatch passes easily for a traditional timepiece, but there is a tiny PMOLED display beneath the physical hands. A stainless steel case and sapphire glass face promise durability, and there is blood oxygen tracking, ECG functionality, and breathing detection that can pick up on sleep apnea. It can also track workouts and sleep, but there is little in the way of additional smartwatch features.

Quite simply the best Android phone you can buy right now, Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra is a premium behemoth that does it all. Samsung’s everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach means you get a huge, 6.8-inch display that runs at 120Hz, a versatile quad-lens camera, fast charging, and speedy performance. The only downside to this powerful and stylish curved glass sandwich is the so-so battery life.

Image may contain Cell Phone Electronics Mobile Phone and Phone

If you can get to grips with the quirky software, Xiaomi offers impressive hardware at affordable prices. This is a speedy phone, thanks to the Snapdragon 888 processor, and it has a high resolution 3200 x 1440 display that runs at 120Hz. It also offers a triple-lens camera, and fast wired and wireless charging, but battery life is average at best.

If the Ultra feels like overkill, you might prefer the regular Galaxy S21. It has a 6.2-inch AMOLED with the same coveted, buttery smooth 120Hz refresh rate. You also get a versatile triple-lens camera, Samsung’s Exynos 2100 processor, and reasonably good battery life, though it can’t charge as quickly as its superior sibling.

While the quality of OnePlus phones has been steadily rising, so have the prices. The OnePlus 9 Pro is a strong alternative to Samsung’s flagship. It has a 6.67-inch AMOLED that runs at 120Hz, a Snapdragon 888 processor, and a quad-lens camera developed in partnership with Hasselblad. It is the best shooter the manufacturer has turned out yet, though it can be a little inconsistent.

This little-known brand has been quietly turning out some impressive budget phones, and the F3 might be its best so far. There’s a 6.67-inch display, a Snapdragon 870 processor, a triple-lens camera, and fast wired charging. On the downside, it sports a dull design, the camera disappoints, and there’s bloatware onboard.

Image may contain Cell Phone Electronics Mobile Phone and Phone

Cutting-edge features and premium design touches are quicker than ever to filter down to the budget end of the smartphone market today, and the Galaxy A52s is a prime example. With a 6.5-inch, 120Hz, Super AMOLED display, a quad-lens camera, and IP67 water resistance, this is a lot of phone for the money. It lacks wireless charging and can stutter from time to time.

The headline here is the unbelievably fast 120W wired charging, but you do also get a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 888 processor, and a fairly good triple-lens camera, though it does lack a telephoto lens. There’s also no wireless charging, and Xiaomi’s software can take some getting used to.

Argos

The budget version of a two-year-old Google flagship might not seem appealing at first glance, but this phone has a lot to recommend it. The camera performance is stunning, considering there’s only a single 12.2MP lens, and that’s largely down to Google’s software smarts. This is a good choice for people seeking a slick, straightforward, smaller phone that does the basics well.

Speakers

All Today's Amazon Speaker Deals

John Lewis, Currys

The HomePod Mini was already one of Apple’s best-value gadgets, and Black Friday has brought us £20 off an already good deal. It’s one of the most coherent-sounding mini speakers, and has a neat colour display up top, just like the original HomePod. A HomePod Mini makes a great music speaker for your office, a bedside unit or just a way to talk to Siri, if that's your bag. You need an Apple device like an iPhone or iPad to set it up, which is the only major drawback here.

The JBL Xtreme 2 looks like a bit of a portable speaker brute, but sounds surprisingly refined. Its design is built around large passive radiators at each end, which let it generate deep, confident-sounding bass even though it’s powered by its own battery. This is a large speaker, but includes a shoulder strap that clips carabiner-style onto the body, to make it easy to lug around. There’s no flashy tech stuff here. It’s a simple Bluetooth speaker, but can fill rooms and arguably offers more balanced sound than the newer JBL Xtreme 3.

Roberts Radio

Just a few companies make good quality small DAB radios. These include Ruark and Roberts, and you can get the Roberts Revival Mini for £99 today. It’s a charming old-school throwback, and not just in its appearance. This is a simple DAB and FM radio. No Bluetooth. No Wi-Fi. But it does use a decent speaker driver and a proper wooden enclosure rather than the thin shell of plastic you’d get elsewhere, which also affects the sound.

Ridiculous to some, an object of desire to others, the Bang & Olufsen Beosound 1 is a high-end wireless multi-room speaker that also supports Chromecast and AirPlay 2. Its cone-like aluminium shell gives the Beosound 1 an appearance far more striking than almost any other wireless speaker, and it is not a living room dominator at 33cm tall. Notions of value have to be somewhat set aside with these style speakers, but this is a genuine £300 reduction from the standard price.

The Beosound A1 looks unassuming, but might quietly be Bang & Olufsen’s best speaker. It is one of the best-sounding micro speakers money can buy, and this Black Friday discount should make fewer baulk at its price. Bang & Olufsen approaches the small portable format by treating it, as much as it can, like a hifi speaker. It has one large mid-range/bass driver, plus a tweeter. This lets it create sweeter treble and a much more convincing mid-range than almost all the cheaper alternatives. 18-hour battery life in an enclosure this petite impresses too.

The Belkin SoundForm Elite was a bit of a dud at its original £280 price. However, shave off most of that, £180, and it suddenly becomes more appealing. This is a wireless charging phone base with a speaker attached, one co-designed in partnership with Devialet. It can get extremely loud for its size and the low-end is turbo-charged.

More dynamic than the average portable speaker, the Tribit Stormbox Micro has a rubber strap that lets it attach to bike handlebars, to cling to the strap of a rucksack. It sounds brilliant for its size and price. Speakers like this made Tribit a serious contender in this space in a matter of months, which is a huge achievement.

Bluetooth speakers have been saturated for years. This is a very worthy, more versatile, alternative to an Anker SoundCore 2.

The Absolute Best Black Friday Deals Still Live Tonight

This mid-range Samsung TV has a wide viewing angle thanks to its IPS screen. And while that also comes with relatively limited contrast, at this level Samsung sets have full-array local dimming, which lets the backlight operate in zones for improved contrast. Brighter than an OLED, it’s clear from any angle and you get QLED colour punch. Dark room performance isn’t class-leading, so cineastes might want to save up for an OLED.  If you fancy something a tad smaller and cheaper, the Samsung QE55Q70A 55 inch TV (£699) is also discounted right now.

Argos, Amazon

This cheap Samsung 4K TV deal is undercutting other retailers over on Argos, with a TV10 discount code making it £47 less than competing Black Friday deals merchants. Despite its low price, this 55in TV still offers up 4K, HDR10+, Adaptive Sound and all your essential smart apps too.

This is the best deal for a 65-inch OLED TV at the time of writing. On the face of it, Argos’s price is actually £50 more than the competition at £1,299. However, its TV10 code takes off 10%, bringing the cost down to £1,169. Deal achieved. This is the entry-level smart TV model in LG’s OLED line-up. It misses out on a 120Hz refresh rate and VRR, variable refresh rate, but these are only must-haves for gamers. Peak brightness is also a little lower than the LG C1. However, we find we don’t often use maximum screen power when watching movies anyway. It’s a lot of TV for a very reasonable amount of money.

Image may contain Projector

This relatively small and light 4K projector is rated at 1500 lumen brightness, suitable for indoors use at around 100-140 inches. It also has its own smart interface based around WebOS. The laser light source means you don’t have to worry about replacement lamps, as its lifespan is upwards of 30,000 hours, similar to a TV. You need to be a little careful about positioning as there’s no lens shift, but it’s otherwise a good buy. This projector has sold at the same price in brief windows during the last few months, but typically costs between £1,300 and £1,600.

Q Acoustics 5.1 speaker sets have been top recommendations for those with sensibly cautious budgets for a decade. Their petite but not tiny satellites don’t have to compromise to the extent of a more lifestyle-driven system. And as such, they are fit for music as well as movie soundtracks. This set includes two rears, two front left/right units, a centre and a subwoofer. The original price Richer Sounds claims (£950) is slightly rich, but this setup typically costs £120 more.

The ‘CasiOak’ G-Shock is an achingly cool watch (do a Google search), and it was excellent value for money at £99. Now thanks to Black Friday it is down a further £25 to a preposterously low £75. Why the name? It could be the resemblance to the famous Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. But it is also very much a G-Shock, with timer, stopwatch, world time, calendar, and LED light. The clincher? It’s superbly comfortable to wear.

If you go for the rubber strap version of this classic watch, you will bag yourself a classic Braun design timepiece at much less than half price. Yes, it’s quartz and not an automatic, but with this pedigree on awards (including multiple awards given to this very watch) for aesthetics, we just don’t care. You get sapphire crystal, a quality black rubber strap, 30 meters of water resistance and a license to lord it over those with uglier watches. (Don’t like this chrono? Braun has put loads of its other watches up for BF deals, too.)

We like Seiko’s 5 Sports range so much here at WIRED we put this very model, the SRPD73K2, in our pick of the best budget watches. It’s been down to £225 before, but this is the first time we have seen it at just £200, which we think is a very good buy indeed for a proper automatic, self-winding dive watch. Don’t like this classic Sports model with a 41-hour power reserve, silicone strap, and 100-meter water resistance? There are 27 iterations from which to choose.

We have long admired Victorinox's outdoorsy solid steel I.N.O.X. watches. Not only are they practically indestructible (this is a watch after all that, after being repeatedly run over by a tank, then subjected to 129 other extreme tests of fortitude, has a somewhat robust claim to being “tough”) but the handwoven US-Army paracord strap can be used to rig up animal snares, lash rafts, tourniquets, make fishing line, sewing thread… even dental floss. Add in 200m water resistance and you have a timepiece ready for anything. This smaller 37mm is our pick at 50 percent off, but if you want a bigger model try the 43mm version with a smaller discount.

Not only is this watch in our list of best watches under £500, it also has serious space pedigree. Bulova made off-world history in 1971 during the Apollo 15 mission when a chronograph, customised for lunar conditions by Bulova engineers, was worn on the moon. This faithful reissue now features Bulova's ultra-high-frequency 262kHz quartz movement alongside a curved sapphire crystal dial and black NATO-style strap. Now, it’s highly unlikely you’ll get to take this watch into space, but you do get water resistance to 50m. Feeling more digital? Inspired by Bulova’s first ever digital watch from the late 1970s, this Computron is also a reissue, and at £187 is £63 off.

PC & Gaming Deals

All Today's Amazon Gaming Deals

If you told us four years ago we’d still be hunting down Switch consoles for slightly under their RRP during Black Friday, we might not have believed you. But chip shortages are real, Covid-19 happened and Christmas s looming, so you’d best add this good-value package to your cart before it sells out. It includes the second-gen version of the classic Switch console design, a 3-month sub to Switch Online and Mario Kart — possibly the very best game for a bit of multiplayer festive fun next month.

Subscriptions are a silent drain on your pocket, but we love them. You can save £20 off the standard cost of PlayStation Plus using the “EXTRATEN” coupon at ShopTo. Not a subscriber already? Each month Plus subs get free games to download. These are added to your library, and can be accessed as long as your subscription is active. It also unlocks access to online multiplayer in games, and cloud saves.

If you fancy a big ol’ Lego project this Christmas, John Lewis might have something for you via this exclusive partnership. Fans of the original Star Wars trilogy will recognise this iconic setting and you can rebuild its 3187 pieces one at a time. There’s also 21 minifigs here too, including Chewy, Obi-Wan and an R2-D2 Lego droid figure.

The Logitech G432 gaming headset is a simple wired option, made all the more attractive by having more than 50% discounted of its price. Despite its low price, you still get solid 7.1 surround sound, 50mm audio drivers and a lightweight build.

The best SSD deal of Black Friday has returned. While stocks last you can get the 1TB version of the sleek and quick Samsung T7 portable SSD for around the price of the 500GB one. This deal was available earlier this week but sold out quickly, so don’t wait too long deciding. It's a roughly credit card size enclosure of aluminium with maximum read/write speeds of around 1000MB/s, perfect for transporting last files without long waits.

When you absolutely, positively, must have the best gaming keyboard you can buy, we recommend the Corsair K100 RGB. These mechanical switches have laser-beam actuation for a crisp, speedy feel that translates thought into action as swiftly as possible. It’s also robust, has customizable per-key RGB lighting, macro keys, media keys, a volume roller, a multi-functional scroll wheel, and even a wrist rest.

Standing proud atop our best gaming mice guide, the Razer Basilisk Ultimate is the complete package. The sensitivity, speed, and accuracy are top-notch, you get no fewer than 11 programmable buttons, and there are 14 customisable RGB LED lighting zones. This is a comfortable gaming mouse that performs beautifully. It also looks like a mini desk sculpture when you slot it onto the bundled charging dock.

Listed in our best gaming monitors guide, the Odyssey G7 is more affordable and manageable than the enormous G9, but it has the same 1000R curve radius, which dials up the immersion when you’re gaming. The resolution is 2,560 x 1,440, so it doesn’t need a super-powerful PC to run at up to 240Hz. It’s a VA panel with solid image quality and a 1ms response time, but HDR is distinctly average.

A good webcam is essential these days. The Razer Kiyo is our pick as the best webcam for streaming, as it can record in 720p at up to 60 frames-per-second, and it has a smart rotating ring light around the outside. Image quality and autofocus are great, if on the warm and saturated end of the scale. But because the audio is just passable, serious streamers will want a separate mic.

Modern games are growing larger all the time, so extra storage is a must. Crucial is a trusted brand for solid-state storage, and this drive promises sequential read/write speeds up to 560/510mb/s and random reads/writes up to 95k/90k. If you need even more space, the Crucial MX500 2TB SSD is also on sale at £134 (£80 off).

We are fans of this mechanical keyboard because it offers virtually unrivaled customisation options. You can configure the actuation point on the excellent optical switches, deciding precisely how far you need to press to trigger a response, and you can set dual actuation points to add a second function to a key. There’s also per-key RGB LED lighting, a magnetic wrist rest, and a USB 3.0 port, but it’s noisy and probably overkill for most gamers.

Building your own PC can be rather daunting and, if you aren’t ready to dive in, prebuilds like this are available—with this AlphaSync on sale for Black Friday. This mid-tier tower offers up an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD and 2TB HDD. The graphics card packing the punch is the GeForce RTX 3060Ti from Nvidia.

If you prefer simplicity in a gaming mouse, the elegant design and relative affordability of the ever-popular DeathAdder V2 might tick your boxes. It offers up to 20,000 DPI, great accuracy, and serious speed. There are eight programmable buttons, storage for five profiles onboard, and a lightweight cord—but it is still wired, and the RGB lighting is minimal.

This popular mouse is a top performer that goes all the way up to a 25,600 DPI level. That’s overkill for most people, suffice to say it’s extremely sensitive and accurate. In fact, the G502 is our best mid-range gaming mouse pick, with 11 buttons, customisable RGB lighting, onboard profile storage, and adjustable weights so you can get the precise feel you want. That said, the angular design won’t suit everyone, and some of the buttons are a little wobbly.

The trend towards ever more lightweight gaming mice is well established, and the Roccat Kone Pro is our favourite example. Weighing in at just 66 grams, this mouse glides smoothly and has a “PhantomFlex” cable that you can barely feel (the wireless Air variant is pricier). Sensitive, accurate, and surprisingly robust this is a good pick for twitch gamers, but there’s just one RGB LED lighting zone.

This long, slim, ambidextrous mouse offers speedy and accurate wireless gaming. With a maximum DPI of 25,600, long battery life, and customisable buttons, weights, and RGB lighting, this mouse has all the features you are likely to want. On the downside, the design is divisive, and the companion software is not great.

You don’t have to break the bank to get a good mechanical gaming keyboard, and the Logitech G413 proves it. Our pick for the best mid-range gaming keyboard, the G413 features light, fast, and reasonably quiet keys. It’s short on extras, so there’s no RGB lighting (just red backlights) and no media or macro keys.

Currys

If you’re seeking a decent gaming PC for the kids, this could be worth a look. It’s packing an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor, 8GB of RAM, 1 TB HDD, 512 GB SSD, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6 GB. It’s far from cutting edge, but if your kids are playing Fortnite or Minecraft on a 1080p monitor, this rig is plenty powerful. It also has RGB LED lighting built-in.

If you’re into button-heavy MMO and MOBA games, this gaming mouse is tailor-made for you. A clever magnetic side panel design lets you switch between two-, seven-, or 12-button setups that can be programmed as macros or hotkeys. Sensitivity goes up to 16,000 DPI, and this mouse feels accurate and durable, but it’s a big, squat design that won’t suit everyone.

If you want fast solid-state storage to plug into your motherboard, Samsung has you covered. The sequential read speeds can theoretically go all the way up to 7,000mb/s with this SSD, though it depends on your rig. If you’re tempted but want more space, the Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 is also on sale for £161 (£279 off).
