Drone footage of collapsed Bridgewater Canal at Dunham Massey

Bridgewater Canal, which runs through Cheshire, completely gave way on one side a short distance away near to neighbouring Dunham Massey.

Water can be seen pouring into neighbouring fields, with Cheshire Police and other emergency services in attendance at the scene overnight.

The canal last burst in 1971, when it was closed for two years for repairs which cost £250,000.

Aerial pictures show the huge scale of the flooding as a result of the burst.
