Brighton vs Burnley live: Sean Dyche verdict as super Clarets earn vital Premier League win

Burnley ended their long wait for a Premier League win and gave their survival chances a huge shot in the arm with an effervescent win at Brighton.

The Clarets were good value for their 3-0 success and scored two wonderful goals in the process. ]

The move for Wout Weghorst’s opened was slick and stylish with the striker firing in Connor Roberts’ pass after a lovely reverse ball from Aaron Lennon.

The latter scored the third when he drilled into the top corner after some excellent hold up play from Jay Rodriguez.

In between Josh Brownhill netted his first Premier League goal when he scrambled home from inside the box.

Burnley were in complete control in the first half and weathered a spell of Brighton pressure, if very few chances, to strike a third on the counter to seal the points.

It was just reward for some improved performances in recent weeks and lifts the Clarets off the foot of the table ahead of Wednesday’s game with Tottenham.

And while there remains a mountain to climb to beat the drop, this win should provide confidence and belief to a Burnley side who have threatened to take more points than they have managed this term.

The key now is to build on the victory and continue to put points on the board and pressure on the sides above them.

But for now, the Clarets fans should enjoy that long awaited winning feeling.
