Bristol City vs Nottingham Forest live: FA Cup updates from Ashton ...
Bristol City earned a replay against Premier League opposition for the second time in this season’s FA Cup campaign, after a 0-0 draw to Nottingham Forest.
A sell-out crowd at Ashton Gate saw the Robins perform admirably in this competition once again after their 1-0 win against West Ham United last time out.
City dominated the first half and Tommy Conway, who scored in both games against the Hammers in the previous round including the winner in the replay, fashioned some good chances but was unable to trouble Matt Turner in goal, having one blocked and another better opportunity put wide.
The visitors thought they’d taken the lead later in the first half when Danilo struck the ball into the side-netting from the edge of the box, a chance that came against the run of play.
As the second half began, Forest started well with former City loanee Chris Wood nodding a header into Max O’Leary’s grasp.
Cam Pring had the best chances to win it for the hosts as the clock ticked on, with a strike from the edge of the box and an effort which rattled the side-netting, this time with the Robins faithful thinking it was in.
All was even though as the final whistle blew and City will travel to the City Ground for a replay.
