Bills vs. Patriots score: Live updates, stats, highlights, TV, live stream as Buffalo jumps out to big lead
The rout is on in Buffalo, where the AFC East champion Bills lead the division rival New England Patriots 27-3 at halftime of their Super Wild Card Weekend playoff game.
The Bills got off to a fast start, with Josh Allen leading a dominant opening drive on which he found Dawson Knox in the back of the end zone for a touchdown. The Pats drove to near midfield on their first possession of the evening, but their attempt at a score ended when Mac Jones was picked off deep down the field by Micah Hyde, who made an incredible diving play in the end zone.
The Bills ended up scoring a touchdown on each of their next three possessions, as well, with Allen finding Knox for the pair's second score of the game and Devin Singletary plunging into the end zone twice -- first from three yards out and then from 16. Allen finished the half 12 of 16 passing for 172 yards and the two scores, while adding 63 yards on five carries as well. He out-rushed the entire Patriots backfield, dramatically out-playing Jones in the process.
New England committed several errors in the first half, taking four penalties and two crucial second-quarter sacks, and perhaps most importantly, punting the ball back to the Bills on fourth-and-1 when it was still a 14-0 game. The Bills drove right down the field for their third consecutive touchdown after that, making New England pay for its conservatism. The Patriots' only score came via a 44-yard field goal by Nick Folk as the first half expired.
Will the Bills hang on and advance to the Divisional Round, or will the Patriots stage a miraculous second-half comeback? We'll find out soon enough. In the meantime, keep it locked to our live blog throughout the rest of the game, as we update you with stats, scores, and highlights.
