Fulham are taking on Burnley at Turf Moor this evening in what is likely to be a pivotal game in their unlikely survival bid. Scott Parker’s side earned a much-needed win over Everton on the weekend, cruising to a 2-0 victory with a performance far better than their position in the bottom three would suggest. But they remain seven points from safety and need another victory here to close that gap and give themselves real hope of pulling off a miracle escape.
Burnley are going well themselves, however, having followed a draw against Brighton – where they were much the better side – with a convincing 3-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on the weekend. A win tonight would see Burnley climb above Palace to 14th in the Premier League, and at the same time move them 11 points clear of Fulham.
Follow all the latest updates from the game at Turf Moor below.
- Match kicked off at 6pm GMT
- Burnley XI: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Long, Taylor, McNeil, Westwood, Cork, Gudmundsson, Rodriguez, Barnes
- Fulham XI: Areola, Tete, Aina, Andersen, Tosin, De Cordova-Reid, Reed, Lemina, Loftus-Cheek, Lookman, Maja
27’: First shot on target comes from Burnley’s Westwood, who hits a technically perfect volley from distant. Unfortunately for Burnley, the strike was straight at Areola, who saves comfortably.

24’: Some risky defending again from Fulham, as Adarabioyo lets the ball bounce on the periphery of the box. Rodriguez then pounces and forces a mistake from the Fulham defender, and wins a corner.

21’: Some erratic goalkeeping from Fulham’s Areola, who decides to come for the ball from a deep Burnley cross, but the goalkeeper half-heartedly attempts to win the ball, crashing into his own defender. Thankfully for Fulham it didn’t lead to a Burnley goal.

18’: Great tackle from Burnley’s Tarkowski, as he stops Loftus-Cheek from running in behind the Burnley defence.

16’: First yellow card of the game for Fulham’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek. A fairly needless tackle it must be said.

12’: Fulham starting to come into the game now. Stringing together some nice passes, and they’ve won the first corner of the game.

8’: Challenges flying in from both sides so far, this could turn into a feisty encounter, but as of yet no shots on target.

5’: A positive start from the home side, as they’ve already swung in multiple crosses, but nothing too serious for the Fulham defence to worry about.

The last meeting between these two sides in the Premier League came in January 2019, when Burnley emerged with a 2-1.
Fulham were then managed by Claudio Ranieri.
