Burnley vs Aston Villa lineups confirmed as Barnes starts with Vydra out and Cornet on bench

Burnley have restored Ashley Barnes to the starting XI with Matej Vydra missing out.

The Clarets remain without Jay Rodriguez who picked up a hamstring complaint in the warm up ahead of the game at Watford last week but Maxwel Cornet and Erik Pieters return to the squad. Barnes starts in the Premier League for the first time since the 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal in September.

Former Claret Danny Ings starts for Villa with Philippe Coutinho only among the subs.

Burnley: Pope, Roberts, Tarkowski, Collins, Taylor; Lennon, Brownhill, Cork, McNeil; Weghorst, Barnes

Subs: Hennessey, Lowton, Long, Thomas, Bardsley, Pieters, Stephens, Costelloe, Cornet

The Clarets are two points clear of Everton and above Leeds United on goal difference ahead of this afternoon's clash with Villa. The two sides will meet again next week when the rearranged Villa Park fixture takes place.

Burnley have taken 10 points from a possible 12 under Mike Jackson and have won three games on the bounce heading into this afternoon's game.
