Chocolate fans cry Easter is ruined as Mars confirms amazing eggs have
been axed
Easter won't be the same for many this year as chocolate giant Mars confirms one of its cult-favourite chocolates won't be returning to supermarket shelves. The cult-favourite choccies first launched back in 2019

A beloved chocolate from Galaxy won't be returning to supermarket shelves this Easter - and people aren't happy.

The cult-favourite treats were first launched back in 2019, and quickly became a must-have during the Easter period. But eagled-eyed fans noticed they were 'missing from action' this year.

Now, Mars has confirmed the Galaxy Enchanted Eggs, which featured crunchy caramel pieces and a shiny rose gold coating, have been axed. It is not clear why, or whether the choccies will make a triumphant return next year.

"We can confirm that for the moment we have discontinued our Galaxy Enchanted eggs," a spokesperson for Mars Wrigley UK told The Sun. "But for those Galaxy fans missing the treat you can find our Galaxy Creamy Truffle Mini Eggs in Milk chocolate or Hazelnut available."

The product first launched back in 2019

Fans of the axed-eggs rushed to social media to express their outrage. "Galaxy, where have the Enchanted Eggs gone? Seriously disappointed you have ruined easter," one user wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Another wrote: "Absolutely flabbergasted that I have yet to see any Enchanted Eggs in the shops. I wait all year for those specifically." While a third added: "Why are there no Enchanted Galaxy eggs in any shops anywhere? What the heck is going on."

Last week, Cadbury was also under fire for the cost of its iconic Mini Eggs chocolates - which fans say you need to 'take a loan out' to afford a bag. It comes after chocolate lovers discovered a large bag of 1kg Mini Eggs will now set you back a staggering £17.50 in some stores - which some argue is the same price as their weekly food shop. Waitrose is currently selling the mega bag for £12.50.

"I love Mini Eggs but they are so expensive this year," one person wrote on X. Another said: "The price of Mini Eggs nowadays is actually disgusting, but they're so good."

Mondelēz, who owns Cadbury, admits raising the prices was the company's "last resort" - pointing out that ingredients such as sugar and cocoa have become increasingly more expensive.

The company told the Mirror: "We understand the economic pressures that consumers continue to face, and raising cost prices is a last resort for our business. However, as a food producer, we are continuing to experience significantly higher input costs across our supply chain, with ingredients such as cocoa and sugar, which are widely used in our products, costing far more than they have done previously."
