range of goodies
The tasty egg-shaped treats will not be re-stocked in their cardboard cartons.

Cadbury's has confirmed that one of its popular treats "won't be returning" to supermarket shelves.

With Easter not far away, shoppers are already stocking their trolleys with egg-shaped treats and Cadbury Mini Eggs are no exception.

The chocolates with sweet eggshell casings come in a variety of sizes and packets to cater for all sweet tooth's. However, the chocolate giant broke the news to one shopper who couldn't find one in particular - Mini Egg cartons.

Taking to Cadbury's official Twitter, one Mini Egg fan asked: "Hi there, I was just wondering whether you were doing the Cadbury Mini Eggs cartons (38.3g) this year? Not been able to locate them as they're listed as out of stock pretty much everywhere. Thank you."

To which the company swiftly replied: "Hi there, this product will not be returning. We’re always listening to our Cadbury fans to ensure our Easter range includes their favourites and reflects their changing taste buds.

"We’ve made a few changes to reflect this and think our 2024 line-up is egg-cellent, even if we do say so ourselves!"

While this size may be no longer available, there are plenty of others that mean Mini Egg lovers can get their fix, which range from handy single serving bags to share-size pouches. There is even a staggering 1kg bag available for those who really like to share (or not).

Of course, in fitting with the occasion, Cadbury's is also selling a Mini Egg Easter egg, which includes a hollow milk chocolate egg and one 80g bag of Mini Eggs.

Earlier this month, Cadbury announced the discontinuation of another egg-shaped confectionary. On February 22, chocolate fans were thrown into a frenzy after learning of the axing of Dairy Milk Egg 'n' Spoon.

Launched in 2013, it featured four chocolate eggs filled with either a milk or white chocolate mousse filling and two plastic spoons. Like Mini Egg pouches, Cadbury cited the reason for the move as "changing taste buds" with fans calling the decision a "crime" on social media.
