When does Call the Midwife series 13 end? Date of final

As fans of the period drama tune in every Sunday to catch the latest from midwives of Nonnatus House and the residents of Poplar.

Now set in 1969, Call the Midwife has aired on BBC since 2012 and was originally inspired by Jennifer Worth who worked as a midwife from the 1950s to 60s as well as the sisters of Saint John the Divine.

Currently airing series 13, the drama has come a long way from its humble beginning, with the last series seeing the midwives busier than ever.

As the official synopsis for the latest Call the Midwife plot reads: "Season 13 continues to explore complex medical and personal situations on the midwifery and district nursing rounds.

"It is now 1969 and more babies are being born in hospitals than ever before.

"Pressure on maternity beds remains extremely high across the country but Poplar is coping better than most due to the work of Nonnatus House and the popularity of home births under the auspices of the Sisters."

Series 13 of Call the Midwife also focuses on the stories "within the Sylheti and Nigerian communities and from around the docks."

Shining light on the poor housing in Poplar and "presenting complex social and health challenges to the Nonnatus team."

How many episodes are there in series 13 of Call the Midwife?

The latest series of Call the Midwife will have eight episodes altogether and all airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

All previous 12 series apart from series one, have had eight episodes and a Christmas special airing the same year.

When is the final of Call the Midwife series 13?

The release date of the final episode of Call the Midwife is expected to air on February 25, however, the BBC has not yet confirmed their full February schedule at the time of writing.
