Rydz runs riot again with emphatic whitewash win over Aspinall to reach PDC World Darts Championship Last 16
Callan Rydz will face Alan Soutar in the Last 16 of the 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship after an emphatic victory over Nathan Aspinall to conclude this afternoon's proceedings.
Rydz wasted no time and he is yet to drop a set in this year's tournament as he made light work of the tenth seed with a 98.3 average and seven 180's and he will return tomorrow for a place in the New Years Day line-up.
Rydz produced a superb start to proceedings with a 90 checkout en route to the opening set.
He breezed through the next two sets to make it nine in a row in this year’s World Championship with Aspinall having no answer to the prowess of ‘The Riot’.
He went 2-1 up in the next set but Aspinall sent it all the way to a decider only for Rydz to have the throw though.
He began the pivotal leg with a 180 as Aspinall looked for a break to avoid being whitewashed but a 140 which followed saw Rydz looking for a finish after nine which he claimed in a 149 set up shot to leave 32 which he sealed first time.
