Bodybuilding icon Cedric McMillan dies suddenly at 44 leaving industry heartbroken
Cedric McMillan, one of the leading bodybuilders of the 21st century, has died suddenly at the age of 44, and tributes has poured in for the much-loved icon

Bodybuilding star Cedric McMillan has passed away at the age of 44 with the cause of death still not confirmed.

Tributes have poured in for the much-loved icon of the sport, whose 'classic physique' represented the 'golden age' of bodybuilding. McMillan is one of the most recognisable faces of the industry since the turn of the century, and his last victory came in the 2017 Arnold Classic.

McMillan has been absent from the circuit over the past couple of seasons due to a number of injuries and health complications. His last result was a sixth-place finish at the 2020 Arnold Classic.

McMillan's friend and competitor Steve Kuclo said: "Very saddened to hear the news of the passing of an awesome person, family man, hero and bodybuilder Cedric McMillan.

"I’ve been competing with Cedric for over 10 years and always had the best times backstage and photoshoots together. He loved life and the sport he poured his life into. Rest In Peace brother!"

One fan tweeted: "R.I.P. to one of my favourite bodybuilders and best personality in professional bodybuilding Cedric McMillan." While another added: "Rest in Peace Cedric McMillan, one of the best to ever do it."

McMillan earned his professional status after winning the 2009 NPC National Championships. He went on to add Orlando Show of Champions, New York Pro Championships, and Golden State Pro Championships to his palmares.

The 44-year-old leaves behind his wife and four children.
