Marty McKenna shocked Celebs Go Dating viewers as he branded girls 'pigs' and 'birds' after making his debut on the show on Wednesday night.

The Geordie Shore star, 27, joined the series alongside Married At First Sight's Nikita Jasmine, and it wasn't long before the self-proclaimed 'shagging expert' was challenged on his use of language by dating expert Anna Williamson.

In a meeting with Anna and the series' other expert Paul C Bronson, he said: 'I'm at the stage now where I'm still in a sl**gy rut.

'I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm not gonna come here and go on a first date with a bird and say "d'ya wanna be me bird?"'

When asked by Paul what 'bird' meant, Marty replied: 'A girl, yeah it's what we call girls in Newcastle.'

Insisting he didn't think it was an offensive word, Marty added: 'I've never had any complaints until you complained.

'If we're in a club and me pal says "ah look at that bird over there would you shag her?", I'd be like "nah she's a pig"'. 

However, not accepting Marty's justification, Anna stated: 'It's a bit gutter... You can't be calling women pigs.'

One audience member branded the television personality 'gross', writing: 'Banter can be funny and cute but some of the things Marty is coming out with is so gross.'

Another viewer wrote: 'Why would they continue with Marty who has just shown what a disgusting human he is?'

While someone else posted: 'Marty and his attitude is revolting.'

Praising Anna for criticising Marty's language, one person wrote: 'Anna calling Marty out for the way he speaks about woman. That's why I like her takes no bulls**t.'
